It has been a few years (over 5) since I last saw this bride and it doesn't look nearly as bright as it used to. That said, it is still worth a drive out of La Conner to drive over it. For the best views, park your car and walk over the bride and back.

We were in La Connor mainly to pick up friends and eat lunch. The place we ate was on the river just up from the bridge. The bridge connects the town to the island that is part of the Swinomish Reservation. We drove the area to get to Deception Pass. The bridge is a pretty sight from the La Conner boardwalk.

This bridge is good for two things driving over and taking pictures of. To get a good picture of it park in downtown La Conner and head for the water. You will have a great view of the bridge and get a plus; a great view of the best of La Conner, the dock/shore line. Like several towns in this area La Conner was a big surprise to me. My memory of 50 years ago had La Conner as a don't bother place, BUT not now. It is a nicely kept artie town with a view that includes the subject bridge, shops and eateries.

Enjoy a scenic drive across this amazing old bridge. The views in both directions stunning. A simpler way of life.

It's just a bridge. There's no need to go out of your way. In fact you might pass over it if you are headed to Anacortes. Nice bridge, but not spectacular. If you see if from downtown, that will do.

It's a fairly short walk from downtown La Conner to the park that looks onto the Rainbow Bridge. There are visitor maps in all of the shops and the locals can direct you there. The park feels like a small forest. Wear comfortable shoes, as the trails aren't paved or completely flat. There is a picnic area that faces onto the lake. The bridge did not look pedestrian friendly, so we took photos from the park. It's a photo op bridge that cars drive across. It's not a shame to miss it, but it was scenic and we're glad that we saw it.

Rainbow Bridge connects Fidalgo Island and La Conner, crossing Swinomish Channel in Skagit County, Washington. If you are visiting the area (and you should) take a walk across the bridge for a great vantage point to see the town of LaConner in one direction then turn around to see the community of Shelter Bay.

Going down Reservation Road from La Conner to Rt 20, you cross over the Rainbow Bridge, actually an orange color. As you cross the bridge heading north, you get a view of the channel and town to your right. Nice view, but hardly a side trip. And be careful driving down Reservation Road through the Indian Reservation property. I saw speed radar set ups along the way which might be a big source of income for the tribe. SLOW DOWN!!

Great little tourist attraction. Not as bright an orange as it was 15 years ago. Bright color is fading.
