Many times I have riden in this park whose only flaw is that if your horse is acting up and you have trouble stopping him ( yes, this happened) you could run out of trail and hit a busy street ( that did not- but it occurred to me at break neck speed that this could be a problem. Its nice to walk and close to downtown Kirkland with all of its charms. As a rider, I am not happy if people are not controlling their dogs, and Iknow some walkers are not entranced with horse manure- but somehow we all get along.

This park is nothing special except to say it is in town... Yes in town... Lots of woods and lots of horse trails. Well cared for trails. I prefer Nearby St. Edwards SP for hiking.

Beautiful walk in the woods, the horse droppings are not an issue as others mentioned. Just walk around if need be, the trails are amazing and I recommend it!

I love my runs on the trails through these woods. The surface is typically firm but forgiving. Many areas undulate and curve for variety. You can also breakout at the power line right of way for a straight and open segment. If you get disoriented just get to a main trail and follow the symbols.

This is a great place for a walk - in the 1-3 mile range. The only problem is this park is BIG and if you go off path you could spend MANY hours finding your way back. The only other drawback is that the trails are primarily for horses...which means you may be dodging some fresh horse "patties" along the way. Theirs enough foliage that even if it's raining, it's likely if your in the park that you won't get wet - but the trails do get muddy on occasion.
