I purchased a LivingSocial coupon to try paddle boarding - it was awesome. From checking-in, to the lesson (young man was very non-judgmental). Upon my our return the checkout was nice! Totally recommend them and will use them again.

I just started stand-up paddle boarding this summer so I'm definitely a novice. I saw a groupon for rental at a local beach and jumped at the opportunity for more practice. I had a bit of trouble with the certificate but NPS has a voicemail message that tells you to text them. I had a response and my problem solved in minutes! When my friend and I got there the staff was friendly, funny, and so helpful. They fitted us for life jackets (mandatory), paddles (measuring our reach so they were just the right length) and had a place for us to leave our things while we were on the water. The bonus was a short lesson! The boards were the inflatable type I was familiar with. It was a little windy on the water but that just made for a better workout. I highly recommend renting from Northwest Paddle Surfers.

We had a 4 person reservation from 6-8pm (last slot of the day) on a Saturday. The paddle boards were ready when we needed them, and since not all of the group had paddle boarded before, we were given a short and helpful explanation. The equipment was in good shape and they sized the paddles to each of us. We got the equipment back by eight with no problems of needing to return it early because they closed at 8pm. I took away one star because the lake is very hit-or-miss in terms of choppiness, so it's not a protected enough area to really travel far and explore on the paddle boards.
