We went there twice now in May - what an inspiration to be there. You can just sit there and enjoy the garden, or walk around, visit the nursery, find the nature trail, the big leaf garden, or the secret garden. Werever you go there's beauty. Overgrown bushes, tall trees, the monkey tree, the young plants in the nursery, or visit the pond and enjoy the still beauty there and sit on the bench. Even saw someone just reading a book surrounded by the beautiful rhododendrons. Take your time, we even took a picnic lunch and sat at a table almost hidden surrounded by the blooming beauties. Pay $5 per person per entry, and these days they recommend wearing a mask.

Wonderful garden. Pretty when flowers are in full bloom. Just scan the code at the entrance, pay USD5 per person and in you go. Lovely to stroll around. There’s a nursery if you want to buy flowers.

Wow, never thought it would be this beautiful and big! The welcoming friendly entry gazebo full of helpful info was the gateway to what turned into the most unexpected surprise. Even if nothing had been in bloom, it would still be a wonderful nature walk. Soothing to the spirit, all around. Lovely cultivated gardens that fit right into the natural surroundings, and the most amazing trees. It would be easy to spend hours just discovering. Really felt like a wild paradise, with all the gentle wildlife around enjoying their paradise. Paths wind around pretty flowers and rhododendrons and blossoming trees, into more wild growth with well kept trails. Just a beautiful experience.

It's a lovely walk in the gardens when the rhododendrons are bursting with color! There's plenty of shade from the trees and some trees/shrubs are of foreign origin. There's a pond and a sea view. The flowers for sale are very affordable. Admission is only a $5 donation. Parking pretty full on the weekends.

Lovely place for the whole family to visit. We stopped by in late May. The flowers were amazing. They have easy to walk paths and different levels of trails. Kids will enjoy the swing and the little secret garden with cute sculptures. The event area has a wonderful view. We will be back! Thanks to all the volunteers and staff who keep this place beautiful.

Visited for my birthday, and let me tell you - well worth the long travel. It’s absolutely magical. The grounds are spectacularly cared for and the trails lead through beautiful nature. Without a doubt I will return.

In the past, I have visited in the spring with all the rhododendrons in bloom, and the displays are spectacular. This visit was after that time, but it still well worth the time. There is a peaceful path, a nature walk with information about many interesting trees, plants, and occasional sculptures. A lovely, relaxing experience.

We arrived in late May so many of the rhododendron were still at their peak. The gardens take about an hour to tour. Entrance fee is only $5 on an honor system, so it is a fantastic value. Parking is free. There is a portable toilet available if you are needy.

This place is nothing like Buchart Gardnens - it is more natural. You will walk through dirt paths through the gardens while viewing many rhododendron that are 50+ years old. If you like rhododendron, you will love this place. There is also an area where you can buy many varieties of the flowers for abotu $10 each. If we weren't flying the next day, we would have bought many of them.

While I wasn't sure I would enjoy this stop on our trip, I was pleasantly surprised. The grounds are well kept by volunteers. The trails are very easy to navigate. They even have a meditation spot for you to take advantage of.

Well worth the stop.

Meerkerk gardens is a favorites of ours. We live on Whidbey Island and this garden is a treasure.
When we first bought our property, and old farm, it did not have any flowers planted on the grounds. many natives, but I wanted the beauty of Rhodies. We went to Meerkerk to help us choose the right varieties, tall, short, early bloomer or late, fragrance or not, sage or sun, there are so many varieties to see. We learned which ones, and in what color scheme we wanted to use.
We decided on some of the early, mid and late. Some can be dug up and bought, most are in containers. A very beautiful and educational place to visit, and almost free.
