Named "2015 Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year", Maryhill Winery is one of the largest wineries in Washington state, producing more than 80,000 cases annually. Perched on a bluff high above the Columbia River, guests enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Mt. Hood. Located near Goldendale, Washington in the Columbia Valley AVA the winery is just a short 90 minutes east of Portland, Oregon. Family-owned and operated since 1999 and with New Zealand native Richard Batchelor at the winemaking helm, Maryhill produces more than 50 wines (over 30 unique varietals) with grapes sourced from a select list of growers in eight of Washington's AVAs. Maryhill's 3,000 square-foot Tasting Room draws more than 75,000 wine enthusiasts from around the globe each year, ranking among the top five most visited wineries in the state. Maryhill also boasts a 1,200 square-foot Reserve Room with a private courtyard, a popular vine-covered outdoor terrace featuring free live music every summer weekend from 1pm - 5pm and a 4,000 seat amphitheater that hosts a world-class summer concert series.

Great wines, fun, knowledgeable staff, amazing view and an overall great stop - in good weather plan to do lot here, bocce courts, patio views, chatting with staff. It is a good stop on the highway, but definitely worth the trip just to get here.

Their wines are superb and the setting breathtaking: it would be a powerful experience to spend a full afternoon and evening here when concerts in the outdoor amphitheater can be combined with a sensory wine tasting and great food. Tasting rooms are elegantly appointed and they were even welcoming of dogs on leash (our two English Setters chose not to... More

Enjoyed stopping in again at one of our favorite wineries. Beautiful setting on the Columbia River. Lovely in the fall with the golden color of the grapevine leaves. Enjoyed a bottle of wine on the outdoor deck.

Visited this on the same day as the museum . Since I had visited there first, they refunded my tasting fee. The wines were excellent- can see why they won several awards.

This is an absolutely stunning vista!! There is an amphitheater for special events and acres and acres of vineyards. However, upon entering the store, where there were four employees, not one asked if we needed assistance with wine selection. Therefore I cannot comment on what they have to offer. It was a rainy, chilly day and there were no other... More

Wine tasting was a pleasant experience, but the wine selections just didn't resonate with us. We enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the Columbia River.

I'd been reading about the area for year since moving to pdx from the Midwest 8 years ago. I finally discovered a not so hidden gem nestled in the achingly gorgeous Columbia Gorge. From adequate parking to a wonderful flight and Victorian barback we were instantly served and let the banter ensue. The staff killed it, friendly but not solicitous.... More

We took a longer way there but the drive was worthwhile and the views of the Columbia could not be beat. We did not know what to buy for a gift. The gal behind the "bar" asked us questions then gave us different ones to try. Not all the wines are expensive and she recommended many different priced wines. The... More

The views here will rival any winery in the country. Located next to the river, you get a commanding view of the river in either direction. There are summer concerts here, though we were here in the Fall. There was a harvest festival going on while we were here, and the grape stomping was both interesting and disappointing. While there... More

We recently attended a concert at Maryhill (our first one) - while the weather wasn't the best, it was a fantastic venue. We did the grass seating and the venue overlooks the Columbia Gorge. We also visited the winery store & bar - they offered a lot of choice for food items (easy for picnic use); the only complaint is... More
