This was my second hike to Lake Ann and it was great. You drive past the picture lake. The trail is well marked. The first part is going down on a muddy road, then you go through the forest and the last part you go up up up on the rocks and to the saddle from where you can see... More

I just hiked this trail today (10/03). Really cool hike with awesome views. If you hike it in early October, you'll be more rewarded with fall colors. Also blue berry all along the trail so a "chance" to see a bear. I didn't see any but saw a lots of wild goose, alpine squirrels and marmots (you can hear them... More

This is a wonderful hike, leading to a pristine alpine Lake with up close views of the glaciers on Mt. Shuksan. Lots of wildflowers when we went made it extra special. This trail will likely be crowded on summer weekends, so plan accordingly.

not the most efficient trail with all the elevation gain and loss, however this is a great trail to experience the true beauty of the Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan area

This was our third day-hike in the Mt. Baker / Snoqualmie National Forest Area, and it was spectacular. The hike offers varied terrain (forests, alpine meadows, rock fields, and an alpine lake below several glaciers--the Lower Curtis Glacier being the most prominent view from Lake Ann--on Mt. Shuksan. The hike is easily accessible from Highway 542; the trailhead is near... More

This is a great four mile hike, but do be warned that right by lake ann (the very end) there are switchbacks that bring you up 900 feet. But I went before the first snow and the view was beautiful. From the campground, there is a 100 foot gully, than you can see Mt. Shucksan start, with no foothills between... More
