Lovely spot for a farmer’s market but beware of the hand sanitizer they squirt as you enter. It turned out to be heavily perfumed and stunk even after I showered and washed repeatedly. I ended up scrubbing my hands with rubbing alcohol to get the smell off.

Love this park, always something going on here! We really enjoy the Tuesday night summer concert series. It is well maintained, love the Skansie net shed in the park, very historic. Bring a picnic and enjoy the views!

Went last week for a concert by boat... free dockside parking, great concert, new public use building with washrooms and top deck viewing. The park is in the center of downtown Gig Harbor with great diversions, restaurants, sightseeing and dog-friendly. Great for all ages!!!

I hesitated to give this five stars just because of the size, but ultimately I decided it deserves it. Various signs up about the history of the area, a very well-maintained park, and very convenient if you're at the Gig Harbor waterfront anyway.

Interesting history of Gig Harbor, wonderful scenery, not crowed, just a nice waterfront park, and harbor.

Skansie is one of a series of small parks and public docks that line Harborview Dr. and it occupies a roughly central position. It is emblematic of Gig Harbor's commitment to excellent public spaces. There are benches, pavilions, nice restrooms, attractive landscaping and wonderful views. A visit to this park should be part of a walk starting with the old ferry dock (with fantastic Ranier views on sunny days) to near Finholm's Market or Donkey Park (depending on how far you want to walk). New pocket parks are being added along this route and this investment is really paying off.
For whatever reason, Gig Harbor seems uniquely free of vandalism and homeless that plague much of the Puget Sound area around Seattle, Tacoma, Bremerton and Port Orchard. It makes for a very comfortable family atmosphere.

While walking around the center of town I enjoyed this smaller local waterfront park with its great view of Gig Harbor and the boats. The public restrooms are a plus for us senior citizens.

In the middle of downtown Gig Harbor, a great gathering place for Thursday markets or kayaking classes or fishing lessons plus a pleasant place to walk around.

Or for that matter those tv series taking place on some eastern seaboard town with fishing trawlers. its definitely the complete opposite of pike's place market in seattle. Offers nice view of the sound and had a public restroom on the premises came in handy after sucking down too many sodas at the tavern.
There was a nice raised platform here that one could access i'm sure many a postcard worthy shot was taken here.

Skansie Park is right downtown in Gig Harbor and is really the focal point for fun. Every activity and event starts or ends here and the activities are great. Movies in the park, concerts...all right on the water and a beautiful stroll down the pier. Bring and chair and enjoy the best small town in America.
