- simivalley16992,099 contributionsExperience the JOY of the season - bring your family and camera! What a joy to see the gardens all decorated with thousands of lights! The paths are well lit, wide enough for roll chairs and walkers. A lovely event for families of all ages. Everybody was wearing masks, and there was JOY all around! We even saw friends having a tailgate party in the parking lot, all well distanced.Visited December 2020Written December 23, 2020
- Cali4niahikerArlington, Washington2,325 contributionsPleasant Oasis! The Everett Arboretum is a beautiful park on the (high) edge of Puget Sound. It is lovingly cared for in part by volunteers. We weren’t expecting much, but were very pleasantly surprised by the variety of trees and flowers. We will definitely return here in the future. It’s a pleasant place where you can lose your worries for a couple of hours.Visited July 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten July 27, 2021
- JanetPortland, Oregon28 contributionsPretty garden! It was our first time visiting the garden. There are lots of beautiful flowers. There were several rock garden displays and it made me think of my grandma (an OG rockhound). The water feature there was very calming and nicely placed in a shaded area with lots of seating.Visited July 2021Written July 31, 2021

We went there on early morning, lots of free parkings. A kid playground next door. Nice garden to relax and take picture. The Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens is both a place of beauty and education and is free to the public. The GARDEN has ten themed gardens include the Urban Tree Walk, Entrance Garden, Rock Garden, Northwest Native Plant Trail, Rain Garden, Japanese Maple Grove, Northwest Demonstration Garden, Viewing Mound, Woodland and Conifer Gardens. The Arboretum is open from dawn until dusk. The garden is located inside the residential area and is only few minutes away from the freeway.

Didn't see anything on the internet about closures. Drove there and the gates were closed. Trying to take advantage of a few moments without rain and get outdoors.

The arboretum is small but quite nice. In the past few years the efforts of those who care about the arboretum are evidenced by all the improvements, both in plants and decorative structures and artworks. It is a very pretty place even for people who don't get excited by plants.
The location is at the far north of Everett, immediately west of a city golf course, immediately south of Legion Park which has a playground, picnic area, ball park, restrooms, etc., and immediately east (across Alverson Boulevard) of a scenic overlook of the Snohomish River, the Jetty (a long narrow island separating the river from the sea), and the islands beyond. The entire area is a really nice place to spend time.

When my son died unexpectedly, I went here to walk around in the fresh air.. It is a beautiful, peaceful. place. I have gone back several times and enjoyed to plants and trees at different times of the year. The vegetation is labeled and it fun t o learn to identify them.

So, I love gardens. I make a point to see as many garden and arboretums as possible around the world. This one is nice, but very small. I waled it and took pics in about 15 minutes, with a very slow walk. I don't mean to make light of this garden, because it is a nice little garden. Took some nice pics.
Cheers!

This is a small arboretum on a small lot. The people (probably volunteers) have done well with what they have.
Most of the plants are exotics--i.e., non-natives. I would prefer more native species, especially trees. It appeared to me that, within the last 10 years, they planted some mountain hemlock (which are now about 12' high and quite beautiful, though unlabeled) and subalpine fir (now about 6' high and labeled). There are also good-sized Douglas-firs and a few redwood (or dawn redwood?) at the far end (unlabeled). There's a nice incense cedar (unlabeled), which is native to Oregon, in the parking lot. Other than that, most or all of the plants are exotic specimens from nurseries.
There's little to "study" at the arboretum. And a number of the trees either are not labeled or the labels have come apart, leaving only a steel base with no writing.
But for a nice place to spend an hour, try it. It's pleasant, not noisy, and overlooks the water. I would guess it's not more than a couple of acres in size.

Love it! Wasn't crowded, not very many people at all. A lovely garden! Great place to walk your dog. Kind of small but was just right.

Although it is a fairly small arboretum, they have some very nice specimens. In particular we enjoyed seeing the many sculptures they have tucked away in the gardens. Combine this with a river walk and eating out to complete a full day.

One of the nicest Parks in Everett that has a wonderful garden and art. Love coming here usually in the spring and around June/July for the garden events.

The arboretum is the best kept secret in Everett. Beautifully landscaped, lovingly planted and tended it's an urban oasis in
North Everett.

Do you have wheelchairs at your location ?
I am a caregiver and would like to take her here.
Thank you

When I was at the arboretum, there were no staff there and no wheelchairs. However, there was a closed building that appeared to be used by Everett parks department. I would try contacting them to see whether they could arrange to meet you at a certain time with a wheelchair. The walkways appeared to be ADA-friendly.
