Lee was the perfect person for our first kayaking experience. He was approachable, laid back, and knowledgeable. He took our lead in what we wanted out of the tour and gave us a memorable day. We got fun facts, great pictures, and a killer workout. You can tell he loves his job. I would definitely recommend him to anyone on Orcas Island.

This was only my second time in a kayak and I felt right at home on the water! Michelle was our guide to beautiful Yellow Island and made everything as easy as possible. She explained our gear, how to use it, how to safely and efficiently paddle, and on top of that, was an excellent tour guide around the Wasp Islands! We learned the names of the islands we were passing, the fun animals we encountered (harbor seals and the mink were my favorites!), and the beautiful flowers blooming on Yellow Island. Totally fun, informative, relaxing, inspiring mid-day trip!

Fantastic 3 hour kayak trip with Corey and a new guide. My wife and I were one of three couples on the tour (we used three tandem kayaks, which are very stable and have a rudder, which make them easy to maneuver). We spent the most time with Corey, probably because we were the slowest of the three boats, and he was a fount of great information about the islands and wild life. The paddling was moderate and the group stopped periodically to let people rest and give the guides a chance to talk about what we were seeing. Even if you have never kayaked before, don't hesitate to take this tour. Corey was very supportive and encouraging - he seems to be the kind of person who says 'you're doing great!' and really means it (even if you think you might not be doing that great). I highly recommend Shearwater! PS I ran into Corey 2 days after the tour on a street in Eastsound and he recognized me even with a mask on and remembered my name. Very impressive.

We had a very pleasant experience and would definitely go again. The guides were patient infirrmative and very skilled. We are first time San Juan island visitors and highly recommend this very up close view of the unique islands..
