Day of relaxing sailing.....mostly motoring

Beautiful day on the water.......bit cool, but clear and no rain! All of the sailors for the day got to "drive" the boat.

Totally agree with the other reviewers who rated with just 2 or 3 stars: distant demeanor by captain, dirty cabin in disarray, don't know where 6 people would sit as we (me, my friend, Captain Ward, and co-captain Mike) virtually filled the bench seats. Don't bother bringing food, wine or drinks (as we did) as there is nowhere to put... More

We sailed for a few hours in the late afternoon. The light on the water was magical. There was not a lot of wind which may at times be frustrating, but it provided me with exactly the relaxing and serene experience I wanted. Ward couldn't have been nicer. Those who wanted to were able to steer his beautiful boat. He... More

We never sailed. My teenager son researched and wanted to go. We even went the day before to check out the marina to endure we would not be late the next morning. We were all very excited about the trip. The boat is fine and it was a gorgeous day. The captain did teach us a few things about sailing.... More

In fact, we were enjoying the day on the water so much we almost missed our taxi back to the ferry. If we had it to do over again, we would stay on the island and spend more time sailing rather than communing back to the mainland. Ward was wonderful, dry sense of humor, patient, instructive, trusting and informative. Variable... More

We enjoyed our first sailing so much!! Capt Ward taught my 9 year old son how to sail the boat, which became one of my son't best experience in his life! It was beautiful and quiet. I brought my friends who were visiting from Japan with us. They loved the amazing experience also. We definitely would like to go back... More

Capt Ward was a great host. We had a private afternoon sail (3 adults and 1 toddler). My son seemed to really enjoy his first time sailing. I was able to steer the boat for a majority of the time out on the water. We brought a cooler with some snacks and drinks to have a picnic on the water.... More

Or family of 4, including 2 teenagers, thoroughly enjoyed our morning sail with Wade. All of us were new to sailing, and Wade was patient answering all of our questions. He showed us, and let us practice some of the sailing fundamentals. It's now a couple of weeks later and I still reflect on our trip at least daily. Thanks... More

We had an early morning sail and thoroughly enjoyed it! Although the wind didn't cooperate at first, our very patient and eager sailor, Wade, kept looking for the best area to go to find the wind. We did find it, and was able to set sail without the motor much of the time. He was very patient and helpful with... More

The Aura is easy to find at the marina in Deer Harbor. We sailed at 4:30 pm with Captain Ward - he really knows the area and was able to point out all the little islands that dot this area. My husband was comfortable as the helmsman throughout most of the trip, although Captain Ward took over the tricky bits.... More
