Such a great experience and a great value! We went more than 80 miles up the Snake River, visiting 3 states and 2 timezones. The guides (Jack and Jason) were terrific, pointing out historical points and lots of mountain sheep. We were able to get out of the boat periodically to explore the shoreline, and the roof of the boat kept us comfortable in the 100 degree heat. We did it as a family reunion experience and everyone ages 15 to 88 had a great time.

This was a fantastic trip that ended up being the highlight of our trip to Idaho. We were worried that the day would be too long but they thought of everything to make i it comfortable and interesting for us. We had plenty of bathroom breaks and food, including an ice cream break on a sandy beach in the afternoon. Obviously, we had good weather but even if you don’t, the boats would allow you to see the sights without getting wet. The captain entertained us with all kinds of stories and was always willing to move in close for a picture of an eagle or big horn sheep that was spotted. We loved everything about this trip and would recommend it to people of all ages!

The jet boat ride was great. The Captain was full of knowledge and humor about the history of the canyon. We saw a variety of birds and deer on the way out and saw several herds of Big horn sheep on the way back. When someone would notice the sheep out captain would turn the boat around and go past again so both sides of the boat could see them.
I would highly recommend the all day trip.

This may be the most unprofessional company I've done business with while on a vacation. We booked a half day tour in February for a June trip. The tour was supposed to be on a Tuesday morning. We built our week's schedule around specific times and dates. On Sunday afternoon Beamer's called to tell us that because not enough people had reserved spots, they would not run the tour. Because other tour companies had no Tuesday availability this forced me to reschedule my hotel stays, cancel a trip to see the Underground City in Pendleton, Oregon and find another tour provider to see Hell's Canyon. We were able to find a trip with Snake River Adventures, but only on Monday, making it necessary to make all of the changes to our schedule. That left Tuesday open. We could not go to the planned Pendleton portion of the trip because the Underground City tour never operates on Sundays or Tuesdays. We managed to scramble and do some sightseeing in the area of our Tuesday night hotel stay. I want to give some credit to two hotels, Celilo Inn in the Dalles Oregon and Rivertree Inn in Clarkston Washington for allowing us to change the dates of our stays on short notice to accommodate the changes necessitated by Beamers. Earlier on our trip we were on a tour in Astoria Oregon where we were the only two people scheduled. Instead of cancelling us as Beamers did, our tour company took the opportunity to give us an extended, personalized tour and work out details for a second tour they plan to offer in the future. Beamer's needs to learn sometime about taking care of customers and honoring its commitments.

Beamers Hells Canyon Tours appreciates you taking your time to review our company, we truly do feel badly that we were unable to operate the tour you were originally scheduled to join. It is helpful for you to point out to others that reservations can sometimes be cancelled. You scheduled your Half Day Tour on January 21, 2024 through the on-line reservation platform of Beamers Hells Canyon Tours. Should they not be met we will reach out to you a week in advance to discuss your options. If cancellations happen less than a week out that drop us below our minimum passenger we will notify you as soon as possible to discuss your options.

I booked the full day trip about 6 months out and was going a day earlier too take this trip before I got on my American cruise. I received google notifications about 6 days, 4 day, and 2 days before the trip reminding me of the trip. I was scheduled to go on the trip on Tuesday May 21, 2024 with my brother law. He was from Ohio and I was from Virginia. Apparently they called me via phone on Friday afternoon before the trip to inform me that they didn't have enough people scheduled on the trip for the boat to go out that day. I missed the call and normally don't answer calls from area codes I don't know and never listened to the voicemail sent. As mentioned before I kept getting reminders of the trip so I thought I was good to go. I traveled all day Monday to get to Clarkston WA so I didn't check my email. Even the day of the trip I received reminders the trip was in an hour when having breakfast. We went down to the dock and no boat or people where around. I received another reminder the trip leaves in 5 minutes and I need to check in. I called the office and no one answered. I hung around for about 1/2 hours and then went back to my hotel room to check my emails and found my trip was refunded in full on Monday the day before the trip. I Finally got ahold of someone at the office later that day and told me the trip was canceled because not enough people signed up but the boat was going out on Wednesday the next day which had room. My cruise left that day so we never got to see Hells Canyon which was on of the highlights I was looking forward to on my vacation.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you contact them a week or so ahead of your trip to verify you have enough passengers and the boat is going out. DO NOT rely on any google notifications related to your trip. They are meaningless.
Not sure if I answered the call on 3 days before the trip if they would have worked something out for me or what they could have offered me as an option.

My wife wanted to do rapids in Hells Canyon on a Jet Boat so on our Anniversary we drove down to Clarkston to take the trip. We stayed at the Hotel right next to the boat dock, so we were ready to go the next morning. Captain Jim and Admiral Jill were great hosts. They really take great care of you providing several places on shores for Bathroom break, even though there is "Head" (bathroom) on the Jet Boat. There was always fresh water available too. The trip was exhilarating, and there were plenty of rapids. Captain Jim's skills navigating the river were excellent and we spotted several Bald Eagles, Big Horn Sheep, Pelicans, Turkey Vultures, Blue Herons and White-tailed deer. There was a box lunch at one of the U.S. Forest Service Recreational parks. They Pointed out historical places and mines along the route. And we even delivered the U.S. Mail to some of the residences way up the river. What a great trip. Nice day on the Water, All Day on the Water. Get the all-day package, it's sooo worth it!!!

My wife & I (age 58) had our first trip up the canyon today. We did the 5 hour excursion. IT WAS WONDERFUL!! The views were exceptional and the historic information presented was outstanding. We saw lots of wildlife (that ended up adding about 45 minutes to the trip - so we could stop and view them) was amazing.

Did I mention the rapids - LOTS OF FUN. The boat's power was amazing. The captain and crew member were both friendly, informative, funny, professional and obviously skilled in what they were doing. So glad we made the trip. I recommend this adventure wholeheartedly!!

We had kids age 15+ on the trip. They seem to like it a lot, especially the rapids. I'm not sure how this activity would be for kids under 12. Lots of viewing scenic things and historic information. The young kids enjoyment would DEEPLY depend on what specific things a child enjoys.

This trip through Hell's Canyon was a great way to see this unique area. The crew was fantastic, giving us historic information as we traveled. We saw lots and lots of Big Horn Sheep, mule deer and eagles. We swam in the refreshing river from beautiful beaches. There were plenty of shore stops and breaks. Although it is not cheap, it was well worth the money spent and I would repeat this adventure just to bring new friends to experience the fun. The boat is very comfortable which was important for the full day tour. A very fun mini vacation for us, highly recommend. Wildlife, unique rock formations, rich history, this trip has it all.

Fun from start to finish. Jim was a great tour guide with super skills at the wheel and humorous anecdotes about history of the River. Jill was perfect as the captain's mate giving instructions and assisting with the history stories. Being up close and personal with the wildlife, especially the Bighorn Sheep was a significant bonus and well worth the trip. Jim and Jill exhibited a feeling of patience and perseverance to make sure the guests were entertained and well fed. We chose the full day excursion and were not disappointed, well worth the time and money.

We've had friends and relatives take Beamers Hells Canyon Tours trips and we couldn't wait to go ourselves! Our trip was an "all day trip" on 8/6/22 and we a great time though because it's a long day, probably wouldn't recommend for younger kids. The trip was informative from historical and geological perspectives. We saw several groups of Rock Mountain Big horn Sheep, several Bald Eagles and pelicans. Would definitely recommend!
