We visited this incredibly moving memorial whilst in Cashmere. The statues are amazingly lifelike and invite you to be part of their story. The artist has made the lower half as if burnt by the fire of this terrible atrocity. It is very moving as is the other recognition of sacrifice, well worth a visit.

Absolutely stop by if you are passing through or in the town. Ten minutes of silent prayers is the least one could offer to heroes of that fateful day. It is a clean, touching and somber memorial to the day that shook America, and a testament to the spirit of this country which bounced back from that punch to the gut. There is a steel section of a column from the 60th floor of the tower and a piece of the cornice from the Pentagon building which were recovered from the debris. There is a display of bronze figures holding hand, symbolizing hope, faith and a sense of national renaissance.

If you are going through town, you should stop by. It is a somber reminder of that day which we all remember so well. Having pieces of the WTC and the Pentagon there makes it more poignant.

After staying in Leavenworth, we decided to take a detour to Cashmere before heading home & visit the Memorial. It was a somber place to honor, remember and pay tribute to the 9/11 victims & their families and our brave first responders who put others’ lives ahead of their own. On the same grounds, you’ll find the 9/11 Spirit of America Memorial & the Cashmere Veterans War Memorial. As you walk around, there’s a steel section of column from one of the World Trade Center Towers & the charred trunk of a callery pear tree from the rubble of the WTC site, among others. Please be sure to visit the Memorial if you’re in the area. #NeverForget9/11
