About
We are a family owned and operated boutique winery located at the base of Red Mountain, in Benton City, WA. We make hand crafted wine sourced from local vineyards. Our goal is to introduce truly hand-crafted Washington wines, at a reasonable price, while also providing a brief education and synopsis of each wine served. The Sugar Pine Barn, our wedding venue and event center, can accommodate up to 225 guests. If you're hosting a special event in our area, our truly one of a kind barn is sure to make it memorable!

Recommended to us by another winery, this was a gem. Not busy, wonderful employee, and delicious wine.

The location of this winery is just down the road from Terra Blanca; while TB has the WOW factor, Tucannon Cellars is beautiful and cozy all in its own class. Our small group visited on a rainy day, so foot traffic was down. It worked out great, as we got a lot of personal attention from Ethan.

This is truly a family business. Ethan is very knowledgeable about the wines they produce. The owners stopped in and we got to visit with them for a little bit. The tasting room is small, with a sitting area next to a fireplace. There is a deck built around this mature tree, how unique is that!! Would love to visit when the weather is warmer to enjoy the view. They have the new Sugar Pine Barn for events, e.g. weddings. Very ideal setting.

Now on to the wines: obviously that is very subjective. We enjoyed both whites and reds; ended up purchasing red blends and a Malbec. Phil, the owner, even took us to the barrel room to sample the Carménère when he found out we've visited Chile recently and got introduced to the variety.

It is apparent they are passionate about the wines they have. We planned a brief visit, but ended up lingering for this wonderful experience. Keep up the good work!

Tasting fee is $10, complimentary with wine purchase.

Hey Samantha, thank you so much for your very kind and thoughtful review! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed your time here and the setting despite the weather. I'm also happy to hear that you listed two of my personal favorites, the 2013 Malbec and our yet-to-be-bottled Carménère. I talked Phil (My Dad) into bottling just two barrels of that Carménère this upcoming month (February). We will be bottling it by hand too, it'll take about 4 hours per barrel, but the results will totally be worth it! I hope to see you both again when the weather warms up. Take care!

Absolutely LOVE this winery...from the gorgeous improvements made to the property to the outstanding wine served. Ethen is a treat. He is very knowledgeable about his wine, and may be one of the hardest working young men I have ever met. I wish we lived closer so we could visit Tucannon more often. We enjoy the wine so much that we often take it to some restaurants in Spokane/Coeur d'Alene when we go out for dinner; it is SO much better than what most have on their wine lists! DO NOT MISS stopping here.

Wow Chris, thank you so much for such a great review! I wish you guys lived closer too, same with the Warwicks! Ohh well, at least it can be a pretty drive. Thank you so much for everything you do for me and my Dad's winery. It really means a lot to us to have such a network of support, so again, THANK YOU! I hope you all are doing great down there in Coeur d'Alene. Sincerely, Ethen

What a terrific new winery. The wines are varied and absolutely amazing. And, they are priced reasonably. Ethan is fantastic! He knows everything about his wine and always has a good story or two to tell. They are doing some AMAZING things with the property - wedding barn, etc. It is a stop you MUST make if you are in the area. Be sure to give Tyson a pet for me, too!

Thank you so much Christine! We really appreciate your support, you have been an absolute blessing to us. We hope to continue to expand our knowledge, improvements, and best of all our stories! Tyson appreciates the shoutout as well, there's just not enough time in the day to give him all the loving and scratching he wants! Thanks again Christine, you are great!

What a wonderful summer afternoon spent wine tasting ☀️ 💕 🥂 we opted to give Tucannon Cellars a try and were not disappointed! Amazing grounds - beautiful water feature and porch area! Great selection of wines, we opted for a white loaded tasting and ended up with several bottles on our way out 🥰 we were greeted by the most adorable boxer pup and then Ethen absolutely entertained us as he chatted with us about the wines they produce and the wine industry as well. Can’t express what a great experience this was 🥰. Huge shout out to Tucannon Cellars 🎉

We tasted one white and our group decided to get a bottle. One in our group wanted to taste a red but they wouldn’t allow it since we didn’t buy 2 bottles only one. Made the tasting experience quite sour even thought the rose was nice

We must have had a misunderstanding yesterday. I was the gentleman who served you, and as I explained yesterday, there are several ways that we can proceed with a wine tasting. We can taste five or six wines, that is a winetasting, there's a charge for that and it's refunded with a bottle purchase. Very standard for our area. We also offer wine by the glass or by the bottle. If someone had asked me to taste a red wine yesterday, I would have obliged immediately. (Just as I allowed you to taste the Wine Club Only Rosè without charging a tasting fee) However no one in the group asked me to taste any reds, and I mean literally, nobody asked me to try a red: hence my confusion on this review. Your group elected not to do a tasting, and instead buy a bottle. Mind you, I even allowed you to buy a wine that was "wine club only". Next time, ask to try a wine, and I'll pour you said wine. I'm sorry, but this has upset me. I work extremely hard to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. I understood your group didn't agree with the tasting structure, so we weren't going to be doing a tasting. I mentioned then that if there are any wines your curious about, I can pour them for you. However if we taste 5-6, I'm legally obligated to charge you a tasting fee. I would not have charged you anything to try one single red.

Wonderful destination. Comfortable tasting room, not too big, not too small. Entertaining and attentive hosts. Of course great wine! But it's hard to find good Pinot Noir made east of the mountains. And that doesn't cost a fortune. Well here it is!

Thanks for your feed back! I agree about the Pinot Noir, it is hard to find! That is exactly why Phil decided to make a small batch of Pinot Noir. He is always doing his best to be different and unique, and his Pinot is a perfect example of that. Anyways, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the wine and our tasting room. And on behalf of my family I can say we all appreciate your support!

We LOVE visiting Tucannon Cellars whenever we can! The tasting room is beautiful, charming and comfortable, the owners and staff are friendly and fun, and of course the wine is wonderful! We also belong to their wine club, and always look forward to our next delivery or pickup! We haven't had the opportunity to visit since the building/opening of the new event venue (wedding barn, etc.), but the pictures look amazing! Can't wait to visit again and again!

Thanks Pam! I am excited for you to see the new venue as well. Today I'm planning some rough details around a few wine maker dinners, food pairing events, and live music events for the Sugar Pine Barn. Since you're a club member you will be getting VIP invites with discounted pricing to each event! With that being said, something tells me it won't be long before you get to see the venue! Thanks again for your Review Pam, we loved it!

A very informative tasting with excellent wine! Ethen knows his wine and was entertaining to boot, as a person in the industry I recommend this winery on a regular basis.

Every wine I tasted was very good. I tasted both red and white, and I liked both. I prefer red wine though. The owners and the employees were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and made you feel welcomed. I'll definitely being going back!
