Chuckanut Bay Distillery Tour and Tasting Flight

6 reviews
Chuckanut Bay Distillery is an award-winning grain-to-glass distillery. We take locally grown corn, wheat, rye, and potatoes, and slow craft it into delicious spirits like bourbon, gin, vodka, and more. Once home to J.C. Penney, our distillery, tasting room, and gift shop are located in the heart of downtown Bellingham in an 18,000 square foot historic building built in 1911.

Found this place by serendipity. Realized I had gone too far to my next destination & was at a stoplight ready to turn around & noticed the sign for this place. It's in a row of industrial buildings with just a small storefront. Oh my gosh! So many choices...bought just a small sample to try but will be going back...for sure! And buy more than a 'sample'. Lovely European style chocolates & worth the price.

Sweet little shop with plenty of tables and very nice service. With so many wonderful delights to choose from I just wanted to taste them all. What I did have was heaven. A nice place to visit after seeing a performance at Mt. Baker Theater because it is just a few steps away. I can't remember the name of what I had, but I wish it would have lasted forever. It was outstanding.

This is a review of the chocolate shop, not the gelato. The chocolate is mostly truffles, with a few other choices (some bark and some cute "shaped" chocolates like animals, etc. that are creamy chocolates). The prices are very high and there seems to be a lot of hazelnut flavor in the chocolates. I found the quality of the truffles to be very good, but the bark was not worth the high price. I was hoping for a bit more variety and prices that are a more reasonable. Counter person seemed pretty disinterested. I was not offered any samples which, in looking at other reviews now, is usually offered.

I would invite you to come out to the Guide location (chocolate factory) where you can taste and explore the many quality chocolates we have gone to great lengths to get. Then we can explain the interesting information that would make the pricing more reasonable. Love to have you - open 10-5 except Sunday.

A very friendly owner gave us great information and a tour of the workroom. These items are a chocolate "experience". Tastings were available and enjoyed. If you receive a gift from this store, know that you are loved.

Went with a friend. There was no sampling available at the time. The hours are very short. Because early during the week. There were no samples, and it was hard to tell but was available. Is kinda like going to see these without having sampled anything prior to this. The candies were okay, but I felt a little overpriced.

I'm not sure you were in the right location. We have such a generous policy on samples.
