Sungazing/bathing, WWU students, runners, eccentric people, large grass fields, coffee shop, over-water bridges. HIGH amount of traffic on weekends/sunny afternoons. Parking is usually an issue-but finding a spot usually isn't....

Heading to Boulevard Park and grabbing a coffee to watch the sunset has become our nightly routine when visiting B’ham. Be sure to bring your camera to capture those gorgeous views. The park is also pet friendly and there are plenty of trails to explore.

Boulevard is a beautiful relaxing park. On Bellingham bay, cool breeze and beautiful sunsets. Weekends you can find bands playing and everyone on the grass lawn enjoying themselves. Huge group will be dancing in front of the stage if you care to get your dance on. Small Beach area for the kids to play. Some will also pier jump. Just a beautiful place to relax, unwind, enjoy coffee and pastry, and see the beauty in life.

Boulevard offers water views and good coffee topped off with a lovely boardwalk over the bay into Fairhaven. One can meander the trail all the way to Larrabee State Park on Chuckanut Drive going south or follow the trail to the east into Bellingham, down to the marina Zuanich Park...trails and parks are hidden all over Belligham and easily found on foot or bicycle.

I've been here a number of times over the years to visit family, and as of late I've noticed a lot of trash and dog poop all over. I have no doubt the people working for the park do what they can, but it's really a shame that a few knuckleheads might manage to ruin this place for everybody else. Clean up after your pet, and pick up your trash. How difficult is that?

This park is a serene place to enjoy the outdoors and be one with nature. You can run, walk, bicycle or just relax view great views of the water and the woods.

This wonderful park, consistently the favorite of locals, was carved out of a number of old industrial and railroad properties at the impetus of the "ladies of the YWCA" and Bellingham's biggest old Rotary Club in the 1970's when everyone agreed it deserved to be a first-class property, and it is a jewel! Connected by pathways to the City's wonderful "Greenways" web of trails, it is always busy with walkers, bikers, joggers, sun-bathers (if there's sun) and on many weekends, events like free entertainment and car or folk music shows, etc. Why is it so popular? Of course, the gorgeous views of the Bay, the mountains, and the fresh air, but also the convenient Woods Coffee Shop for warmth in the winter and "coolth" in the summer. Try visiting the park by walking on the waterfront path north from Fairhaven (maybe a mile round trip) or, on a Spring-Summer-Fall Saturday, with a walk south from the wonderful downtown Bellingham Farmers Market at Depot Market Square: any 'Hamster will point out the route for you! Be on the lookout for herons, eagles, and be sure to stop on the roomy boardwalk and esplanades to check for otters and other sea critters: if you see a stopped group of strollers, find out what's distracting them! Ask a local to tell you about "Tin Rock" or "Star Rock", and learn more about this historic waterfront area; you'll begin to appreciate the great history of this town, once the center of a huge fishing and timber industry.

Great spot to spend some of the day out in the sunshine on a beautiful day in Bellingham. This spot was nearby to other locations and truly a great spot for walking and relaxing and having a picnic.

We had a look around Bellingham as a day trip. The boardwalk was advertised as worth a visit and I have to agree. Wish it was longer.

Beautiful sunsets, friendly dogs and their walkers, a coffee shop, college students in hammocks, slack liners, the bay, the train, a bike path walled with blackberry bushes. I could go here every day and not get bored.

how can you get there in case you dont have a car? Is there any transportation there?
Written April 9, 2019
There is city bus service that goes within one block of the park. The park is also a walkable distance from many neighborhoods on the south side of Bellingham. Any local map will clearly direct one to the park.
