I am so lucky to live a 10" walk away from Lake Padden. Simply for a 2.6 mile walk around the lake, you will see NW forest at it's most typical. Hear birdsong at its most usual. And want to return to observe how it changes from day to day. Season to season. Four turtles were on the log today.... More

I reviewed this park a few months ago. I run/walk around Lake Padden in the park are a few times a week. This is an update to my last review. This is still one of the best parks in the area BUT it is being neglected. Bathrooms are dated and sometimes flooded from toilets. The men's shower room floors are... More

We walked all around the lake and the path is wide enough with room for the dogs and friends. There is a shower and bathroom facility part way along the path which seems well maintained and adequate. The trail is gravel with trees all along the sides.

Great spot for families . Non motorized water sports.biking.picknicks or walking the trail around the lake. Tip... Mornings during the week are tranquil.

This park is a little gem in Bellingham that has everything. Fenced dog park with lots of room to run, separate areas for small and large dogs, water for the pups and shade for the humans. There's also a playground for small kids and running/walking trails around the lake, plus all of the water activities in the lake! This peaceful... More

After many years of not being able to do this, my year old pain free knees let me walk again. A few minor hill climbs on the forest side, but low difficulty otherwise. Loop not possible for wheel chairs but some of the lake side walk is paved. This is just one of many extraordinary parks in Whatcom county.

Another example of why Bellingham is rated so highly for livability. This lake prohibits power boats and noisy, polluting, watercraft as well as development. What you get in return is a pristine environment perfect for swimming, hiking, walking, rowing, floating, picnicking, and just relaxing on the grass.

The park was very crowded. It was frustrating finding parking. The beach access by where we finally found parking was not great. The water had lots of plant material in it. Not too appealing for swimming.
