A lot gets written about Chuckanut Drive, the coast-hugging road that starts north of Mt. Vernon and ends in Fairhaven. It's very scenic, especially in the autumn. But the real treat is when you get to the end of the road in the once independent area of Fairhaven (now a part of Bellingham). This historic district offers the charm of... More

We went for breakfast, and had a decent meal at the Colophon Cafe eatery (the staff was very nice). There is a neat book store next door. We walked the streets of the 3 block area and looked around, but there is not a lot of "there" there.

Fairhaven Historic District has a great blend of old, small town charm with cute, modern shops and eateries. While strolling town you have views of Bellingham Bay, sometimes making people wonder if they are in Southeast Alaska while wandering through. It is well worth a stop and stroll for weekend brunch, an evening walk or to appreciate the views. You... More

The Fairhaven Historic District is a lovely place to spend time a day sightseeing. The architecture of the old building is amazing, the shopping is different and you can find unique gifts for family and friends, and if you are hungry, there are many wonderful places to dine. Pease enjoy!

These are the kind of areas my wife and I love to visit. Coffee shops, good views, and plenty of shops to walk around and explore. I wish we had noticed this area sooner.

this is a great walkable area with nice views of Bellingham Bay. We have eaten at probably 10 different restaurants and never been disappointed.

Really enjoyed the buildings and architecture. It is somewhat of a tourist trap. Worth a visit if that is what you expect.

The Fairhaven District in Bellingham is nice, with lots of shops and pricey restaurants. There's a statue of Dirty Dan Harris there. Harris was apparently a colorful character who lived and had some business in the area. There are nice views of the harbor, the area is rather clean and funky, but prices in the area are high. There are... More

My friend and I were heading toward Seattle and decided to pay a visit to the Fairhaven District. There are many touristy shops, a few restaurants, and a couple of pubs. Only about 1/2 were open and very few had customers inside. The lady in one store which also acts as a tourist information was very helpful. I may be... More
