What a day we had with our 3.5 year old grandson! The drive from Bethesda was 90 minutes on a beautiful, sunny fall day. He was thrilled to watch Daniel Tiger on our iPad (an activity saved for long drives) while we enjoyed the early colors and rolling hills as we left the hubbub of the DC area. We arrived... More

Our 7 year old grandson balked at the idea of coming here. But .. we convinced him to give it a try and he was so happy we did. He had a BLAST! There are so many hands-on activities for kids and even adults. It was especially fun to go up on the roof to overlook the city and play... More

We took our 1 year old here, while he most likely didn't get the teaching aspect of the exhibits he did have a blast touching and looking at everything. I found myself reverting to my inner child and getting excited and involved with the all the exhibits. I found myself getting so excited with every floor and corner. Also found... More

This museum is full of interactive activities not just for kids but for parents to play with their kids! My 8 year old loves going there. There are 3 floors full of interesting things to do and the 4th floor is a terrace where you can see and smell a part of downtown Wichester. The smell is a great smell... More

I had heard really good things about this place so I was excited to take my daughter to see if for ourselves. It did not disappoint. First floor has a dinosaur Skeleton - the only thing in the building kids cannot touch, a full size ambulance along with dr tools and several hands on displays and a netted climbing structure.... This was recommended to us. I was unsure about it when I saw the website but it was perfect for active and curious children with well thought out exhibits and so many hands on activities that we ended up staying until it closed. My son said it was the best place ever.

Took our granddaughter here - she loved it. The adults also found it interesting. There is something there for everyone, and we learned a lot. The hands-on exhibits are fun for old and young. (The roof gardern is a great place to watch the parade and/or fireworks in Winchester as well)

My great-granddaughter and I went to the Winchester VA Discovery Museum and we enjoyed every bit of the 4 levels of fun available. The ground floor has a fantastic Rub Goldberg and a climbing gallery that kids loved tunneling through from the entrance and then in reverse. A real ambulance with lights (no siren in this enclosed space; a mock... More

This place was recommended to us by one the teachers at our grandson's pre-school. Both our grandchildren, aged five and two, loved the whole experience and there were plenty of fun educational activities to keep them occupied for several hours. The tickets are valid all day if you want to take a break for lunch and go back in. There... More
