Williamsburg East Ghost Tour

71 reviews
The only ghost tour in the world based on the first ever photo-study of ghosts! Real ghost photos, featured in the books Haunted Historic Colonial Williamsburg Virginia with Breakthrough Ghost Photography, Parts 1 & 2, are shown at each stop on a large computer notebook (Samsung Galaxy). Guides will point out the exact location around or in the house or building where the photo was taken and encourage travelers to take their own photos. Tour guides will give relevant historical information pertaining to the haunting as well as personal stories encountered by the book's author and others, including interpreters and security guards from Colonial Williamsburg. Travelers will be given choices about where they would like to stop based on their interests--no tour is ever the same! The East Tour starts at the Capital and continues down Duke of Gloucester Street to the Courthouse of 1770 and walking across the Market Square to the last stop--Williamsburg's most haunted: Peyton Randolph House.

I hadn’t play this course in awhile and after we scheduled the round I inquired about the rates. Being a senior you never know when a lower rate is available. This course, located in a active over 55 community I checked online. The stated rate online was $50 for a senior rate on the weekend, at least if you made a tee time online. Otherwise, I found out, it’s full price, in this case $70. The attendant in the pot shop said he “didn’t have a $50” button. Now on to the course, I would suggest against scheduling a tee time in the morning if there’s a possibility of dew. Between the dampness and the early morning sun it can be tough. Course however was marked well, in good shape, with several challenging holes.

I really like Colonial Heritage GC. I think it’s one of the top 3 conditioned courses in Williamsburg and a must play when visiting. The course is very elevated with carries over waste areas. A few pro level holes I find really challenging. On the front the blind up hill then downhill hole 4, followed by its signature extreme uphill hole 5 can be score busters. The back meanders through GC homes and woods with my favorite two holes coming in, holes 17 and 18. Carry an extra sleeve of balls.

Great for golf, but challenging course. Food nothing to write home about. Very plain jane! Went for lunch on Sunday and ate in the grill since brunch was nothing but a egg station with some sweet rolls. Chicken salad had grapes and nuts which was not my cup of tea, nor was the Cole slaw. Ceasar salad with shrimp was served with plain shrimp, not grilled or seasoned. Recommend Huntsman Grill adjoining Wolf's Lodge for both of these choices, and much better ambience.

Want to play a championship course designed by Arthur Hill a top golf course designer Colonial Heritage is your local answer here in Williamsburg. It’s December now and in a lot of ways it makes it easier to play because the roof is not as long. Bring your A game because this is although it’s located in a 55 community A championship golf course. And by the way after golf enjoy a excellent meal with good drink in the clubhouse.

I’ve played here twice. The course is well maintained and beautiful layout. But, it’s far too hard for the average weekend golfer! I can’t believe this course was built in a retirement focused community!
