I hadn’t play this course in awhile and after we scheduled the round I inquired about the rates. Being a senior you never know when a lower rate is available. This course, located in a active over 55 community I checked online. The stated rate online was $50 for a senior rate on the weekend, at least if you made a tee time online. Otherwise, I found out, it’s full price, in this case $70. The attendant in the pot shop said he “didn’t have a $50” button.
Now on to the course, I would suggest against scheduling a tee time in the morning if there’s a possibility of dew. Between the dampness and the early morning sun it can be tough. Course however was marked well, in good shape, with several challenging holes.

You Either Like or Hate this Course
Jul 2020 • Friends
I really like Colonial Heritage GC. I think it’s one of the top 3 conditioned courses in Williamsburg and a must play when visiting. The course is very elevated with carries over waste areas. A few pro level holes I find really challenging. On the front the blind up hill then downhill hole 4, followed by its signature extreme uphill hole 5 can be score busters. The back meanders through GC homes and woods with my favorite two holes coming in, holes 17 and 18. Carry an extra sleeve of balls.

GO FOR GOLF, NOT FOR FOOD...
Dec 2019
Great for golf, but challenging course. Food nothing to write home about. Very plain jane! Went for lunch on Sunday and ate in the grill since brunch was nothing but a egg station with some sweet rolls. Chicken salad had grapes and nuts which was not my cup of tea, nor was the Cole slaw. Ceasar salad with shrimp was served with plain shrimp, not grilled or seasoned. Recommend Huntsman Grill adjoining Wolf's Lodge for both of these choices, and much better ambience.

Championship course
Dec 2019 • Friends
Want to play a championship course designed by Arthur Hill a top golf course designer Colonial Heritage is your local answer here in Williamsburg. It’s December now and in a lot of ways it makes it easier to play because the roof is not as long. Bring your A game because this is although it’s located in a 55 community A championship golf course. And by the way after golf enjoy a excellent meal with good drink in the clubhouse.

Too hard!
May 2019 • Friends
I’ve played here twice. The course is well maintained and beautiful layout. But, it’s far too hard for the average weekend golfer!
I can’t believe this course was built in a retirement focused community!

Unexpected Challenge
Oct 2018
Enjoyed the course very much. Very difficult, lots of elevation changes, and some forced carries. Conditions were excellent.
Great layout, no repeat holes.
I was particularly surprised by the topography, the course is built across all kinds of hills and crosses plenty of streams and little valleys. Visually interesting and plenty challenging.

Casual Dining
Oct 2018 • Couples
We’ve eaten here a couple of times. Typical pub fare - sandwiches, salads with pasta & steak to select from. We have not eaten in the dining room, only the pub. Service is good, the servers are friendly. The food was good & reasonably priced. Nice to get a seat by the window yo enjoy the view of the property.

Perfect venue for a seminar
Oct 2018 • Business
Excellent experience hosting a two-day seminar at the Colonial Heritage Country Club. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable; lighting was good, acoustics were great and food was well-prepared and served professionally. No complaints about the room being too hot or too cold (this may be a FIRST in my experience of hosting seminars). I would highly recommend this venue!

A tough course and very challenging but also beautiful with helpful, friendly staff. Course is well maintained and not crowded this time of year weather slways iffy in october but we lucked out. They also make accomodations for families to golf.

Limited hours, expensive over rated food
Sep 2017
If you want to dine here....don't.
Limited menu, very limited hours. If you are an early bird...this is the place. They close at 8 and are opened only on certain days...plus if you eat in the dining room and not in the pub...you feel like your dining in the nursing home dining room.
