It was raining on this particular 4th. So we decided to watch a movie to escape the rain and humidity. The movie was 1776. I personally hated the movie. It was a musical that was drawn out. A few of the songs, like Momma look Sharp, and this other one about the Auction block were just ridiculously stupid. However, the... More

I recently viewed a movie in The Sceening Room section of the theatre. This room only holds 30+ people, but the chairs were the most uncomfortable ones that I've ever sat in! They were more like dining room chairs than theatre seats! Never again!

This was a variety show with little talent or comedy. Very disappointed. Unless they get different performers, don't bother.

We saw Christmas Dreams performed by Institute of Dance! Truly the most enjoyable dance performance I've ever been to….the costumes were so creative, and colorful! Truly added so much visually! The performers were superb!! Just loved this performance! The theatre is historical and lovely!

We enjoyed the Holiday Pops concert by the Williamsburg Symphonia recently at this venue. It is handicapped accessible. This is a charming small setting with great acoustics. The Williamsburg Symphonia is unique - a small orchestra with broad skills. We aren't "regular" symphony patrons, but their recent concert was the highlight of our visit to Williamsburg!

We have seen several 18th Century plays performed at the Kimball Theater, such as "A Grand Medley of Entertainment", "The Walking Statue or The Devil in the Wine Cellar", and most recently "A Miss in her Teens or the Medley of Lovers". All were extremely well performed and proved that colonial entertainment is entertaining! Kimball Theater also uses this venue... More

My family and I went to see the Irish Mystique show. This Irish-themed show contained an extraordinary exhibition of traditional Irish clogging-style dancing, traditional Irish tunes, and telling of folk-lore. This is a great activity to bring the family to, with things that will appeal to both guys and gals. My son and I liked the sword dance, and we... More

My hip hop loving teenager enjoyed this concert! We had never seen a crystal violin before. The music was beautiful. We enjoy all of the musicians at Williamburg whether they're playing in the taverns, theater, or Governor's Palace really doesn't matter. As for the theater itself, it's old, small (there are no bad seats), and located near the best restaurants... More

A Rare Find in a Live Theater I am originally from New York and grew up going to the theater on Broadway. Orchestra tickets when I was young were $9.99 now Broadway is $200 or more. The Kimball Theater is $18.95 with a 15 or 20% discount for annual members. You can actually see live actor playing in colonial garb... More
