Our one-hour Ghostly Tales tour takes you through Williamsburg's historic area in the evening. You will be introduced to the historic importance of each site visited, you will hear of the local ghostly legends that surround them, and of recent encounters with the spirits that reside there. Our Walk About History tour is a one-hour introduction to the history of Williamsburg - its historical importance, development in the 18th century, glimpses into daily life of colonial inhabitants, and modern restoration. An excellent choice if you have limited time to visit Williamsburg, or are looking for an in-depth orientation before touring the town on your own.

Great tour. My 7th grade daughter was able to bridge the gap between classroom and actual fact. She was excited that she had learned about some of the events that Trish mentioned. I was impressed with Trish's knowledge about African American history. I learned quite a bit! The only missing thing is not going inside some of the places mentioned... More

The guide is excellent. She does her own research reviewing the original archives and documents. I have been to Williamsburg several times and learned much. The tour really brings the buildings to life. BTW, you are supposed to buy a pass to get into Williamsburg (although there is no gate) in addition to paying for the tour. The admission gets... More

Trish was excellent!! She knew the history well and was incredibly passionate when sharing it. She even recommended readings for my elementary schooler! She shared information that was relevant and interesting to all age groups in my party. I felt like I was taking a trip back in time as we walked, and could see myself in it. She was... More

The walking tour was ok and probably more suitable for historians or Americans with good knowledge of American history. As an Italian from Ireland I missed very simple data points and backdrop which could have made the tour more interesting. My 9 year old was given no attention and no comment was tailored to him for his understanding. It did... More

While some of the truths about our American history are known, they are rarely spoken. To hear affirmations of the truths you know is great. To learn new truths is a true blessing. The tour was the best event we have attended in Williamsburg and we have been coming to Williamsburg for years!!

I believe you attended both our Walkabout History and African American History Tours, and your review is indeed an affirmation of exactly what we hold as our ultimate goal: the truth. Revisionist history and/or omissions of fact serve no purpose other than to give people only what they want to hear. And in that lies no education or provocation of... More

Guide was knowledgable and patient with the young children in our group. The tour was not scary for our young children, not even the five year old. Really liked the small group - there was only one other family with ours. I felt bad for the other tours I saw with groups of 30-50.

Glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves. Also happy to know you were able to compare the accessibility of our smaller groups to those of much larger ones. Accessibility is our intention, and most people never realize it until they experience it for themselves. Thanks! More

If you like American history, drive three hours south of DC and plan to stay some time in this beautifully accessible living history site. It is open all seasons. Guides take great pride in this very large site with multiple experiences. This easily should be a multi day experience to appreciate fully. Three day passes are available. I will plan... More

We were so privileged to get a private tour with our guide Trish. She told great stories about the people that made the fascinating history of our country. She was very entertaining and brought it to life. Her knowledge of history was so deep and full of interesting facts. She also nicely kept us in the shade. Great tour. We... More

Excellent tour & guide. Really enjoyed the groups being very small and personal and our tour guide gave her own personal accounts of stories which made it really interesting. Definitely would recommend this tour for anyone.
