Great day on the water

We went in January. It was EXTREMELY cold on the boat. My advice would be to dress as though you are taking the kids sledding. Ski pants, ski jacket, and heavy gloves. You are... read more

We went in January. It was EXTREMELY cold on the boat. My advice would be to dress as though you are taking the kids sledding. Ski pants, ski jacket, and heavy gloves. You are fine in normal clothes and jacket but you would be so cosy and toasty in ski gear. We saw seven humpback whales, amazing to see. Lots... More

We had a great time whale watching on the Rudee Flipper on New Year's Eve. We went on the 2pm tour (arrive 30 mins early for boarding). The tour was pretty full and I would have preferred less people so it was easier to move around and get a view of the whales. I saw some other tour boats that... More

Been here for the dolphin tours in the summer and didn't hesitate to use them for the whale watching. Just wished we would have been in the front of the boat since they drive to where the whales are and we couldn't see as well from the back like we did for the dolphin tours.

Everyone on the boat was friendly and nice. Unfortunately, the water was very rough when we went and several people got seasick. They do offer medicine to help with the motion sickness, but you must buy and take it right away in order for it to be effective. My family did not get sick, but my children were a little... More

Great trip! We saw about 5 whales, several of them breached. The boat ride was comfortable, I would suggest dressing very warm.

My girlfriends and I decided to take a dolphin tour while visiting for the weekend. We called ahead of time to ask for more information, and were very happy that the woman shared that water conditions were very choppy that day, so we decided to postpone a day. So glad we did! The next day the weather was so much... More

We had the best time on this trip, saw about a gazillion dolphins, wasn't expecting to see any so wow, wow, wow. People on the boat were knowledgeable and friendly, just a really great trip. The only thing I would ding them on is charging $21/person then announcing that their boat staff only work for tips. C'mon, pay your employees,... More

While visiting Virginia Beach. I would definitely recommend the Rudee Flipper Cruise. They take you out to the Dolphin Cove were you can sometimes get a view of the dolphins swimming and jumping out of the ocean. Beautiful sight!

This is our third trip on the Rudee Flipper. The staff is very knowledgeable about wildlife and the Virginia Beach area. We saw lots of dolphins - adults and babies too. They approach the boat and sometimes ride the wake. It's a fun trip for all ages and I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back!

The Rudee Flipper is a fun filled hour and a half cruise. Every time I visit Virginia Beach I make sure to take the Rudee Flipper cruise. My sister and I vacationed in Virginia Beach Sept. 14, 2016 through the 20th. This time was no exception, my sister and I had a great time. Can't wait until next year.
