The theme park, itself, is well-staffed, with numerous lifeguards and workers; however, the two times we went to get food, it was not a good experience. The food was good in terms of quality; it is what you expect from reading the menu options on the website, etc. The issue at the first place was that they could not provide me my order choice because “the cashier was not there yet so they were looking for anothet cashier on site to come & work the register.” Okay… we moved on to the main food are near the entrance. They had many choices on the electronic menu above, but as we prceeded through the short line, not all choices were actually prepared & ready to grab. We waited at least ten minutes for a hotdog meal & that seemed ridiculous. We also ordered a salad & as we proceeded to sit down to eat, we needed a fork for the salad & no plastic fork could be found. We literally ate the salad with a spoon, a knife & our fingers. At many of the food stations there were many workers, it just didn’t seem that anyone was in charge because it was consistently unorganized & a lot of workers just standing around not doing much except talking to one another.

Took our granddaughter here for the first time during a weekend trip to the beach. The park had a nice variety of slides for different ages and “daring” levels. There were lockers we took advantage of to store our car keys, wallet, etc. while we played. The lockers have multiple open options and just end it when you’re done for the day.
The park offered a nice variety of food options throughout the park. Be sure to have a strap if you wear glasses, or be prepared to hold them every slide you go down. Also recommend wearing water shoes to avoid the hot pavement. Parking is a bit of a walk, but they offer a shuttle if you want to use it. Also appreciated the military and weekday discounts they offer. Would highly recommend checking it out if you/your family enjoys water slides.

Spend a little more money and get the cabana. It is worth the expense of having a semi-private area to have folks retreat to. The service is amazing and no fears of your stuff going missing. The rides are decent and the lines are manageable. The lazy river and tidal pool are always a hit with the family. Minutes away from the beach proper.

We got the season passes through the military travel office. The park is clean, the rides have lifeguards. The concession stand is nice and has lots of food options. The lockers are handy, my only complaint would be more seating for people who bring their kids and just want to sit and relax.

We really enjoyed this park! It was clean, had fun rides and the lines weren’t too long. The lazy river covered a pretty large area and we had no trouble getting tubes. We even stayed and went around a second time since no one was waiting for a tube. There are slides of all types. I really liked the tube slides. My kids are older so they did the body slides too. If you have young kids, there is a whole separate area with smaller slides and things to climb. They also have a nice wave pool. Reviewers who are calling it small should do their research before going. You can read all about the slides on their website. I thought they had a lot to offer and made great use of their space.

Went with 4 teens in the twilight session from 4-6p. Was just the right amount of time for them and cost. Don't think it would have occupied them for the whole day, but the time we were there was fun. Liked Neptune's revenge and some of the smaller slides. Was very crowded, but lines weren't too long for us during the middle of the week.

This visit was the second time bringing my grandchildren. They love it. I personally love the lazy river. The children were busy all day long. This and the time before was the first day of our vacation. I bought tickets and rented shaded chairs by the wave pool. Great fun.

My family and I visited Ocean Breeze Water Park last summer and were sadly disappointed.

While the rides were fun and the staff was friendly we were appalled by the amount of cigarette smoke everywhere. Apparently, Ocean Breeze is a smoker-friendly paradise. There were smokers by the lockers, by the food venues, by the water rides and even in the kidddie section, the only place I even saw a non-smoking sign. Even here there were people lighting up next to kids running around. My son, who has asthma, was constantly having to avoid the smokers who had no consideration for anyone but themselves.

To tout this place as kid and family friendly and yet encourage smokers to pollute the lungs of anyone unfortunate enough to be near them is hypocritical. It is a shame that the rights of addicts trump those of everyone else at Ocean Breeze. The staff was very friendly and the rides were great but everything was marred by a cloud of noxious smoke that greeted you every time you moved.

My family and I will not be returning to Ocean Breeze water park since its' pro-smoking atmosphere make the entire experience unpleasant.
Let the smokers smoke outside the park so that the rest of us can enjoy all the attractions with a breath of fresh air.

Just returned from a short trip to Va. Beach, and was advised to visit Ocean Breeze by a local. We had originally planned to visit Busch Gardens, but once down there, we couldn't imagine standing in those long lines dripping in sweat.... that humidity is unreal!

OB was a great bargain compared to other parks. There's a 15% discount for AAA members and on-line coupons. They obviously make their $ from concessions, as your bags are searched dilligently upon entering for contraban such as food and drink. Residents get a great deal on a season's pass... I think it was only about $45!!?? That's less than what I've paid on a daily admission at many other water parks.

OB was easy to navigate, had awesome water slides, an area for toddlers and babies, and a great wave pool. The most challenging ride was the Hurricane, which has a similar effect to being flushed-down a toilet into an eight-foot pool. We had to try it once, but stuck mostly to the tube-slides. I steered away from the 'mat' slides after I slipped and fell getting on one, and saw someone else do the same a few minutes later (I guess that will happen in a water park). There are lifeguards at every post, most of whom seemed dilligent even though they're all rather young. One checked on me as soon as I fell.

The best part about this park when compared to others was the lack of lines. At it's busiest (an influx after 4:00 pm, when there's reduced admission... I'm told), we only waited about six-seven minutes to get on our favorite slides. There seemed to be plenty of lounge-chairs, places to sit and eat in the shade and lockers close to the rides ($8 after the security refund... well worth it).

The down-side would be no "lazy-river" type ride for adults (always a favorite when you need to take a break). And, as with any water park.... those stairs to get back up to the rides were a KILLER! Also, the concrete is tough on the feet, especially when it's been baking in the sun. Luckily the shop sold water-shoes which are allowed on just about any ride.

Hope this was helpful, have a great time!

9 year olds are adults according to this park and have to pay the adult rate. Since when was a 9 year old an adult. You could be mistaken for thinking you are entering a prison as you go in - You have your bags searched as you go in to make sure you are not taking any of your own food in. The food inside is rubbish - greasy burgers, fries etc and highly priced. You pay for lockers, you pay for rings to go down the slides. A couple of the slides are okay but nothing special. All in all a bit of a rip off.
