Love visiting the beach and boardwalk, people watching and the many photo opps along the way! Only turn off for me is the overly friendly relentless pushy sales people at the end of the pier. No thank you doesn’t work even said twice and it deters us from going to the pier.

Even though I have lived in VA for 20 years, I really hadn't explored the Boardwalk. It used to have a reputation for being a little sketchy, but when I visited last week with two adult female friends and two young teen girls, we felt completely safe and enjoyed an evening stroll. Hotels and restaurants were open with music flowing out and created a great vibe. Had ice cream and enjoyed the sounds of the ocean. Everything was perfectly maintained and clean.

Not your typical boardwalk. Actually a cement walk. Not sure when the boards went away. It is a beautiful walk. All the shopping is actually one street over and has your typical beach town shops. Nothing extraordinary for a beach town.

The boardwalk is great - I like the way there are entryways/exits at most every street that crosses Atlantic. I was also impressed at how nicely it is maintained - I noticed clean-up crews out early each morning picking up trash and emptying containers. There were even vehicles out on the beach smoothing the sand and collecting trash.

Nice boardwalk to walk along on a sunny day. Everything looked cleaned, even the bathrooms, and water stations sprinkled around. Walked to the huge Statue of King Neptune.

We made reservations to take the drive down the boardwalk to view all the Christmas lights. The city did an amazing job with miles of lights and action displays on both the ocean side and business side of the boardwalk. The traffic moved rather slowly because you could stop in your car and get hot chocolate or other treats. While it was a great experience I would recommend anyone who does this next year stay in the ocean side lane as the vendors are on the business side lane.

We were visiting for Thanksgiving, which is obviously not beach weather, but since I had never seen Virginia Beach, I wanted to make sure we took a look. After a delicious breakfast nearby, we walked a block or two to get to the boardwalk. This is a paved road, that is nice and wide so it's easy to stroll without bumping into people, as it was surprisingly busy, even for late November. Apparently, for the Christmas holidays, they line the boardwalk with lights and all sorts of Christmas displays, and then at night you can drive your car down the boardwalk to view everything. We were there midmorning, so obviously couldn't see the lights, but the displays were very significant. We enjoyed all the great works of art, including Neptune statue, and the Veterans park. I could see where this would be a lot of fun in the summer, being right up against so many hotels and condo complexes. Lots of stores selling all sorts of swimwear and accessories line the streets about a block from the boardwalk, along with lots of different ice cream shops, and other snack, and food stops.

The boardwalk is a beautiful stretch along the shore with plenty of restaurant options nearby. We were impressed with the size of the boardwalk & that they offer separate lanes for walking and bicycling. However, even though there is sufficient signage we still encountered several bicyclists on the pedestrian walkway. If you need a break or just want to sit and people watch there were many benches along the boardwalk. There are also numerous access points to the beach. We were happy that dogs were welcome to go on the beach and that the beach was very clean. The activity level and noise level increased as early evening approached. It was a great place to spend the day.

The boardwalk is a treasure. Went to the end of the pier. Dolphins, surfers, fishermen were all active. $4 charge for visitors to the pier. Maintenace crews were repairing cracks along the boardwalk. it was good to see nobody tripping over poor concrete. The Ocean views ever changing and fighter jets soaring overhead.

this was a very nice place to walk. We also liked the rickshaw ride, though we weren't able to go far without tiring. The view from the boardwalk, plus the statues along the way, were well worth the trip
