Walk, bike, skate any time of year!

The boardwalk in Virginia Beach is about 3 miles long and a great place to walk, bike or roller skate.

Came to Virginia to stay at the four sails resort right on the boardwalk. The beach is awesome and has great views. Watched fireworks and it was a pretty good display. The only bad thing about the boardwalk is the homeless people that beg for cigarette's and money. Other than that this is my 3rd time here and first time... More

We visited Virginia Beach for two nights as a stopping point on our return roadtrip to New York from Georgia. I had never been and my husband hasn't been since he was a boy. We were both unaware that F-18 fighter jets had been relocated to Virginia Beach from Florida and would be flying over at low altitude all hours... More

Hands down Virginia Beach has the best board walk.....miles of beach from sand to walking paths to bike path too. Rent a bike style for a family of 6 to ride together....variety of restaurants of all prices. Clean beaches, plenty of life guards, lots of shops with great prices and various goodies from clothes to food.

Love to walk the full length, 2 1/2 miles Rollerblading on the smooth concrete is great also. During the Christmas season, you can drive your car along it to view the Holiday Lights on the Beach, which are very beautiful.

In theory, this is a great boardwalk, family friendly and safe. In reality, this year there is very little police presence, and rule-breakers take advantage. Posted rules say "no skateboarding, no dogs, and ride bikes on the bike path". There are lots of young children and families with strollers as well as older people out trying to enjoy the boardwalk.... More

This beach is clean and I felt safe early in the morning and late at night. There are some homeless people living on the beach so if your not use to seeing homelessness you may be surprised. The beach is cleaned often. You can walk, bike, rollerblade or run on the boardwalk. Whether you spend the day or several days... More

Please know that this is not a "board" walk. It is a concrete walk. Unlike the South Jersey boardwalks, there are no stories along it. There are restaurants and hotel entrances. You have to go over a block to see stores. A very nice walking, biking riding boardwalk but not a shopping walk.

We ate at the Casby's Kitchen and Tap room. The food was excellent and the service was superb. They have a large selection of craft beers as well as a great wine selection.
