Great day on the water exploring the hidden beaches & wildlife of Broad Bay. We saw Kingfisher, Bald Eagles & lots of jumping fish. Matt even taught our kids 6&9 years old to kayak by themselves on the return trip. Highly recommended!

Has anyone did the kayaking with the dolphins tour with Chesapean Outdoors, a local Eco-tour company in Virginia Beach? This seems like an awesome activity. My 12 year old would love it.

I have not done the dolphin kayak tour (sure it's great!) but have been on a jet ski (no motor, just drifting) with dolphins...it's magical. I'm not familiar with Chesapean Outdoors but do know Wild River Outfitters offer a kayak tour so you might want to contact them just for comparison of the tours. Check them out at www.wildriveroutfitters.com. Please post after your tour to let us know about your experience. By the way, if your 12 year old is interested in giving surfing a try, 17th...More

I'm between Chesapean Outdoors and Kayak Nature Tours. Has anyone done either or both? Really want a great experience. Thanks.

I don't have personal experience with either company you mentioned but am familiar with Wild River Outfitters (good company). I briefly looked at the Chesapean and Kayak Nature websites, both look like they have been around for several years. Kayak Nature has a youtube on the dolphin tour (I didn't look at it) and explain the tour quite well in their text description saying to expect 3-4' waves and wind. Sorry I can't be of more help but enjoy paddling with the dolphin, it's a great experience.
