Hidden Gem in Stafford

This is a newer park and has a lot to do. There is a fenced playground for younger kids and across the way a tall playground for older kids. There are soccer and baseball fields and a walk around the pond is always nice. We bring our dogs here multiple times a week. It has the feel of a wide open place, but surrounded by trees, so a sense of nature as well. There is a fenced area where an old homestead used to be, and a path to walk around the outside of it, which is wooded and feels like you're getting away from the world.

Nice Park, Well Maintained

Nice park, well maintained. A few different trails around the pond. Gets quite muddy when grounds wet. Watch the mush spots hidden under leaves. You may lose a foot lol. A few osprey nests throughout the park.

Great Park for dog walking!!
Jan 2019 • Solo
Nice park to walk dogs. There is a paved path as well as some trails you can venture on. Have also watched my Grandsons play baseball at the park. Fields are in good shape! Would like to see them expand and add a fenced in Dog Agility Park!!

Peaceful hiking trails
Dec 2017 • Solo
Came here for the many geocaches in the park. You can spend an hour or more on the trail network to the southeast of the ball fields. Only negative is that the trailhead at the park leading to these trails is not well marked.

Enjoy a short walk in a nice clean park
Apr 2017 • Family
My son, our dog and I took a short break to walk around the pond today. It's a nice, clean park with restrooms, ball fields, picnic tables and playground equipment. There is trash along the banks of the pond; please keep it clean.

Open fields
Aug 2016 • Family
This park has a large open field. 2 play grounds one first the younger and the other for older elementary age. The park is always clean and plenty of parking. Has only 1 big covered picnic spot. Not a lot of shade though. But still a good spot to bring kids.

Great Spot for Families
Jun 2016 • Family
This is a relatively new addition to the Stafford County Parks & Recreation. We were there during the week with our grandson and found we had the park almost to ourselves. Besides soccer and baseball fields, the park has two playgrounds; one geared to those up to 5 years old has a fence around it to keep the little ones inside. There are permanent restrooms and a fountain for everyone, including your pets. The covered picnic shelter is quite large. An added bonus were the ospreys flying in and out of the nest they had built atop a pole. There is a stormwater demonstration project on the grounds and a containment pond that adds to the beauty of the area. There are paved trails for walking and bicycling. The park is located off of U.S. Route 1 and is worth a visit.
