Go back 200 years by visiting this winery. You may be greeted by their dogs or cat as you enter the winery. There is seating outside by the vineyards as well as by the brook. We particularly enjoyed the Old Rag Red wine. The server was very personable.

Recommended by a friend this was a delightful rustic vineyard visit. Upon stepping inside we were immediately greeted with a smile and started a relaxing informative tasting. We selected our 2 favorites and sat outside under a tree enjoying our delicious selection. Great rustic experience.

We stopped by after hiking Old Rag Mountain (the location is as convenient to Old Rag as it gets). When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by their giant, friendly dog. Upstairs in the tasting room, we were immediately greeted and given the wine flight ($ per person, with 3 whites and 3 reds) from a very engaging and attentive... More

Driving around with my husband on a sunny Sunday afternoon and stopped in for a tasting. Ended up enjoying a glass each with a fresh loaf of crusty bread and cheese. We sat in weathered Adirondack chairs loving the view and sipping the wine and cheese for lunch. There's a B&B and its tight down the road from old rag... More

My husband and I enjoy driving the backroads of Virginia. We had been curious about Sharp Rock having passed it on a previous trek. We were delighted by our visit today! The wines were great. The Chardonnay was excellent as was the Synergy red blend both of which we purchased. Jimm, the winemaker was very nice. We enjoyed hearing about... More

Stopped here on our do-it-ourselves wine trail in the area. It's a quaint little building for your tasting with knowledgeable staff. The wines are good; try the Chardonnay Reserve. It's wine for the bourbon drinker!

After searching the tons if wineries close to our cabin we fell upon Sharp Rock. Tastings were $6.50 for all of there wines (7 samples). They truly have a wide variety. All were very drinkable and smooth. They also sell bread, cheeses and meats. We settled on a venison summer sausage and made a lovely lunch sitting outside by the... More

This was an amazing weekend with excellent accommodations and proximity to a couple of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at. Jim and Kathy (and their 2 beautiful dogs and cat) are simply wonderful. We loved the wine as well. We have already been recommending this place to our friends. We got so lucky getting the Carriage House at the... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Carriage House for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Sharp Rock Vineyards is about an hour and 45 minutes from Washington DC, 15 minutes south of Sperryville, and 2 miles before the Old Rag parking lot. I can't think of a nicer place to have spent our weekend. The Carriage... More
