We recently took this tour while our son and daughter in law were visiting. We have been on numerous food tours across the US and in a couple of other countries. This one was very well done. Our guide (and company owner), Larry, provided a very nice tour that included a number of food stops as well as quite a bit of information about Roanoke. It was nicely balanced and the walking distance was reasonable, even on a warm day.

We started at Hotel Roanoke, which might have been our favorite food stop. We walked across the bridge to downtown and tried several very nice restaurants......the shrimp and grits at Billy's were very good. We also stopped at the iconic Texas Tavern (more for the history and tradition rather than the food). The tour ended with a couple of dessert stops.

The tour has only been available as a private booking (due to COVID) but it sounds like they will soon be back to normal operations. It's nice to see that a local company is surviving all of the recent challenges.

We highly recommend this tour!

Lynne our tour guide was by far the best part of the whole experience. She is full of knowledge and clearly has a passion for what she does that makes the tour that much more enjoyable. The stops along the way, the history lesson, and the food were all amazing. The entire experience is well worth it.

Larry was a great guide, friendly and informative. Communication was excellent ahead of the tour.

Fantastic variety/mix of foods on the tour with nice sample sizes that left us all satisfied/full by the end.

Larry have some good background on the city and it’s history and a good feel for the vibe of the city.

An easy, well paced walk.

As we satisfied our appetites we learned about Roanoke's interesting history. Several diverse cultures helped to shape the area and we were able to sample some of these foods. This experience was way better than just going out for lunch!

I've lived in Roanoke for six years, but in three hours I learned more than all the time combined before in town. I ate just enough food to feel full, but not so much it would slow me down. The stops were well timed and had a great variety. This is a 3 hour trip I'd recommend to tourists and locals alike. If you're ever trying to figure out what to do with out of town friends and family - this is it. Really.

Becky was out guide and we went to 7 places and each place got better and better. History of Roanoke was really interesting and the best part was our tour started in the Hotel Roanoke. This up and downs of the whole town makes your realize how much our history has changed so many times. All of the restaurants were so gracious for having us but the highlight for me was Cedars Lebanese Restaurant. We have never had Lebanese food before and listening to the history of how they got there and then opened the restaurant was mind blowing. Please do try this tour you will not be disappointed

We spent three fun hours enjoying a leisurely Saturday with Roanoke Food Tours, walking the downtown, learning about its history and architecture, and sampling food. For the new visitors on the tour, it was a revelation: "What a fun and interesting place!". And even though I've lived here for four years, I learned a great deal. Most of all, the guide made the tour fun - a bit of humor, a little history and a lot of enthusiasm for his city combined with good food to create a perfect outing.

I am from this area and learned so much about the town I grew up in that I was simply amazed! Wonderful experience, tour guide was great and was so knowledgeable! And the food was delicious! My favorite stops were Hotel Roanoke for the peanut soup, Texas Tavern and On the Rise Bakery (which has the best coconut cake ever)!

Amelia and Becky were our awesome tour guides. For 47.00 and a 3 hour tour you are taken thru the city and sample tastings at 7 local restaurants. And let me tell you, you will feel well fed by the end of it! I am a big eater and around restaurant 6, I was not sure I was going to be able to eat another bite! Well worth your $ and the tour is so great that it makes you want to move to Roanoke. Don't miss out! We did the Saturday lunch tour from 11-2pm. They also do a Sunday brunch tour. So glad we did this and would do it again. Thanks again Amelia and Becky!

A friend and I took the Brunch Walking Tour on Sunday August 31st. What fun we had. Larry was the perfect tour guide. The food was excellent and we also visited other places that were suggested during the tour. We will definitely try to get to the Craft Beer Tour if he has one.
