1. It's always interesting to something in your town that you take for granted, be popular to others across the country. The wonders of TV. 2. I love shopping there. Lots of interesting stuff. Staff is overwhelmed and sometimes it's hard to get someone to help you. 3. But, if you want something different and interesting, it's the place to... More

Black Dog is a wonderful place to visit. This especially holds true if you are in the market for a one of a kind item or items for your home or business. They also have a lot of building materials for older homes so if you are looking for those hard to find items to match those pieces in your... More

Whatever it is you are looking for, make Black Dog the place to check out. From old doors, fireplace mantels, sinks, windows, garden items to strange things - this is worth the trip. They even have one side of of their building dedicated to dealers with more fun things. They are dog friendly too. Anything you are looking for to... More

We decided to go to Roanoke for 4th of July Weekend just for a short getaway. Watch these guys on TV all the time, so had to stop. I'm a "hobby" decorator and Hubby does woodworking as a hobby. We could spend hours in this place. Prices are a little high but then again, everything is custom made and therefore... More

This place is awesome! There is so much to see; we'll have to come back again to take it all in. A fun way to spend the afternoon and get a few project ideas...

This place has really cool ideas and items, but very overpriced. Take your time walking the store as you will discover new ideas everywhere you turn!

My family made a side excursion to Black Dog Salvage as seen on TV. We were just looking and found a lot more than we needed in a good sort of way. They had everything imaginable. Stuff we call junk they see something of beauty and make it useful again. A lot of stuff they just put a price on... More

As long time fans of the TV show Salvage Dawgs we made the 900 mile round trip to check out their store during a long weekend in Roanoke, Virginia. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed seeing items we recognized from their show as being salvaged from buildings that are facing demolition. We also enjoyed seeing items that had been "Up-cycled".... More

I must confess that I love spending a lazy afternoon strolling through the displays at Black Dog Salvage. It's a place where one can get lost in the vast collection of stuff. All kinds of stuff. Big stuff. Little stuff. old stuff. Very old stuff. Metal stuff. Plastic stuff. Glass stuff. Cement stuff. New stuff. Electric stuff. Paper stuff. Wood... More
