We are a well established Escape Room in Roanoke, Virginia that focuses on fun! Players enter a themed room, collect clues and solve puzzles to complete a major objective for the room. It is totally immersive, live action, hands-on, and lots of fun! All of our rooms are private at no extra charge, so players don't have to round up a lot of friends to play, or play in a room with a bunch of strangers.

Overall, the room was fine and I suppose the experience would be great for people that have experience and a desire to solve multi-faceted puzzles. This is my second experience with puzzle rooms and I have found that they really frustrate me. I think the level is too hard or maybe I am too inexperienced for this level of room. To make the experience better for people that don't have the experience and really want to have fun and experience a sense of accomplishment in solving a puzzle, you may want to have different levels of rooms. These could range from easy to very difficult depending on the skill level of the participant and what kind of experience they want to have- simple and fun or difficult and challenging. The level of the room could pertain to the number of puzzles in the room itself. Also a basic guide on how to go about solving a particular puzzle room would be nice as maybe someone could have better success.

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your time at RMR. Assigning difficulty levels to rooms is not very practical, as every group is different. What one would consider impossibly hard, another might think "a piece of cake." We try to make all of our rooms challenging but not impossible, and our main goal is for our customers to have fun. That is why we offer unlimited hints, so that every group can get as much or as little help as they would like in order to solve the room. It sounds like maybe escape rooms just aren't for you, but we thank you for giving us a try!

We booked the Pirates escape room as a birthday present for my sister and we were so happy with our decision! The room was so interactive, the puzzles were challenging, and Adam was a great game master. We are all talking about how we can't wait to come back. Thank you for a great afternoon!

Our family of 4, first Escape room experience. Youngest 9, but we had a blast in the pirate room! Escaped with close to 17 minutes left with zero hints taken.
Fully plan on coming back and hitting all the rooms. The owner was very nice and fun.

We had our daughter's 10th birthday here and it was such a great experience! We were all new to Escape Rooms and this did not disappoint! We all had such a fun time. The owner was so friendly and helpful and did a great job of explaining the process. The room was creatively done and we are definitely planning on returning.

We enjoyed our escape room so much we decided to do another one with Joel downtown for a Monster Hunt! Joel was awesome by the way! It was so much fun to get outside and see the city while racing the clock to solve our mystery! I highly recommend this company and especially the one outside! I hope they come up with more of these in the future!!

As an escape room enthusiast, I’ve been to many different companies in different cities and states, and completed close to 40 rooms - Riddle Me Roanoke is by far one of the BEST! This family-run business has unique and engaging puzzles, as well as fun themes. The owners clearly have a passion for puzzles and games, and place a lot of emphasis on customer enjoyment. They are focused on fun, and are just as excited when someone escapes from the room as the participants are. I’m always looking forward to their next new room! Can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

I have always wanted to try an escape room. On my latest trip to Roanoke, Virginia I had a chance! We tried Riddle Me Roanoke and it was fantastic! There was four of us, my son and his girlfriend (late 20’s) and my husband and myself (early 50’s). We chose “The Will”, which for beginners was perfect! The story line in short was that we had one hour to find the will before the house was destroyed. Working together and figuring out the clues was so much fun! With only one hint we finished with eight minutes left. Riddle Me Roanoke was easy to find, very well planned out and if any cares, the facility was very clean. I would highly recommend giving it a try, it is well worth it!

So much fun! Even though their prices are competitive, it’s just so expensive for families. If it was just my husband and I we would probably go a lot more but for 4-5 people it’s a once in a while treat. Suggestion - maybe a family night with reduced price for 2 adults plus 2-3 kids?!
This is our second time here, the owners were away and it was a nicer experience overall when they were there, but of course they can’t be there all the time and I understand that they had an important event to attend. Just goes to show, though, how wonderful the owners are 😊

Thanks SO much for your kind words! We're glad you still had a good time while we were away; it is very rare for all of us to be away. As for being expensive for a family, we certainly understand, and that's a great idea for a Family Night discount! While we couldn't do that on a regular basis because we have limited time slots and we depend on groups as a whole to keep us going...we certainly should be able to offer something like that occasionally. Look for it soon!

We’ve done 5 other Escape Rooms, and this was our least favorite. We asked for medium to hard... and ( perhaps because there were just 3 of us) we were suggested to do The Lost Will. It was all in one room... and seemed less engaging than others we’ve enjoyed.
Upon further reading... it seems the Pirate escape is better rated. I would try that before the lost will.

Thank you for your review. We're truly sorry you didn't fully enjoy The Lost Will. Most people who have played both Pirates and Lost Will say Lost Will is slightly harder, so that is why I suggested it, although Pirates would probably be considered more immersive and engaging. We don't try to compete with some of the larger multi-room games people have played...we just try very hard to create unique, fun games for people to enjoy. We do hope you will come back and play some of our other rooms, as each room is a completely new experience.
