Nice little green space
Sep 2020
This little park was a pleasant find after walking the city streets. There were some cool pieces of art to look at as you walk through

Wonderful green space and venue
Aug 2020
What a nice park and green space in the heart of the city. It is a 10 minute walk from the historic Market Square and visitors and sit to enjoy the themselves and the mountain view around the city. The Park is also part of the Roanoke Green Mountain Greenway. It has a huge outdoor stage for performance and the Rock garden on top of the hill. Nice place to visit.

Great Venue
Sep 2019
We attended a few events here recently and every time the experience is great. The acts have been fantastic and the seating is really nice and spacious. It is a good idea to get there early so you can pick a good seat and bring a blanket to sit on! The food trucks are an added benefit.

Entry was too slow and painful
Oct 2019
I attended two paid concerts here recently: Foreigner and Dustin Lynch.

The Foreigner concert was easy to get into, BUT, there was not enough seating for all of the tickets sold. Our group had to split up and some folks had to stand at the railing of a sidewalk. Was disappointed that Foreigner only sang 10 songs. Took several breaks. Warm up act was awful.

For the Dustin Lynch concert, the line to enter was wrapped around the entire adjacent office building. The entry gate staff was totally inefficient. They were even selling tickets at the same place where people who bought tickets in advance were trying to enter.

Parking is easy and it's efficient to get on the road after the show is over.

Both concerts had beer.
Foreigner concert had a few food vendors but the lines were very long.
No food at Dustin Lynch show and you couldn't take food in.

We thought Adam Rutledge was warming up for Dustin Lynch but it got changed to a band from MD at the last minute.

A happening
Aug 2019 • Couples
Beautiful park & a real happening. Live music, a beer tent, food trucks & hundreds of people all sitting out from 6 until 9 on a beautiful night. All ages, a real mix of Roanoke.

Summer Concerts
Jul 2019
Excellent venue to attend concerts! Sometimes you are permitted to bring a chair but they post on fb in advance if this is allowed. A blanket to sit on is really all you need.

City’s gem
Oct 2018 • Friends
Elmwood Park is a gem right in the center of Roanoke. Since the city fathers redesigned and rebuilt that whole region, it makes me proud to call Roanoke home. The activities like “Party in the Park” remind one what communities are all about. Of special note, is the free Roanoke Symphony’s performances there. This was a project that deserves a “well done” to city government

A Happin' Place
Oct 2018 • Friends
Stopped by twice within a week - first for the JDRF Walk and then for First Fridays - a live music gathering targeted for young professionals with the proceeds going to charity.

Both events were well organized and well executed.

Very nice park.
