I use to go to the Town Center for lunch or to read a book. But then they decided to charge for parking. It was difficult to use a credit card. You have to type in the credit card information. Many stores and restaurants left. The stores close early, even during Christmas shopping season. It was the most perfect place to shop and eat. Before the pandemic there were weekend festivals and free music, but there was a problem with parking. Greed ruined it. Go somewhere else.

There are lots of stores to wander around in and plenty of restaurants to choose from to suit everyone’s taste. I went on a weekend so parking in the garage was free. There is a cost for street parking. I spent time going in and out of stores I don’t have at home. Wander around especially if it’s a nice day.

Covid may be rife but this little USA town is beautifully kept. So clean. Lovely flowers. Well kept square. Lovely shops well organised during this dreadful pandemic.

We rarely go to Reston Town Center because of the paid parking. The only time we will go is after 5pm on a weekday and on weekends to avoid paying for the parking. It's a shame. They have some great events that go on around the holidays but we don't bother most of the time because of figuring out parking.

We saw a movie there and they do at least validate for free parking so that is helpful. But, you cannot stay much longer than the movie so if you wanted to walk around and maybe get ice cream after the movie...get ready to pay to park.

Its not a bad area with some good restaurants. Over the years the homeless population has increased around the area. In the summer you can see people sleeping under blue tarps and in the bus stops. Sort of a dumpy area overall. Not a place I would want to live or take my family.

I went with kids about a week ago and spent 47 minutes trying to park somewhere. After trying to find those garage parking where first hour is free and being unsuccessful as many are for residents only and information os NOT clear atall, I decided to park on street through calling the number, long story short, I tried THREE times and after following all steps, I never received a text confirmation of parking validation. The system never sent it to me after I texted the plate number as required to start parking.

They charge for parking in a suburban Virginia glorified mall. They make you download an app to pay for parking that is a potential security risk or your personal data and could track you if you say YES to its permissions. The stores at Reston Town Center are nothing special. You can avoid this parking fiasco by going to many of the same retail locations in the DC metro area that DO NOT charge you to park, especially in Fairfax and Loudon counties. Parking at Reston Town Center is a hassle now. Shady app, pain in the rear end validations, $ to park...not worth it!

The Reston Town Center management has become very complacent and inefficient. It seems to be run by a bunch of bean counters who are resting on their laurels after the disastrous and failed parking fees debacle. The footfalls have reduced drastically, the number of visitors have also reduced, other than to frequent some 2-3 bars+restaurants, shoppers seem to be a thing of the past, there are about 14 store/shops which are empty (boarded up) some for over 10 months. Prominent anchor tenants, such as Sonoma, Victoria’s Secret, Google have closed down or have/are moved out. Compared to the buzz at the Mosaic District (Merryfield), Reston Town Center seems to be moving towards being a ghost town. A new CEO, one with some vision, and some very capable marketing people are urgently required in the Management so as to reverse this decline and revive the town center.

Why is it necessary to take a perfectly great town center and start charging for parking, especially when there are so many fine restaurants outside the center with free parking. This is not Washington D.C. You are hurting your customer base and your merchants. I can't imagine a merchant which rented space under the assumption that parking would be free only to find his customer base going away because Boston Properties decided to try to make more money at the expense of everyone else. You turned my grade from a 5 to a 2. Sorry merchants.

il Fornaio, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn gone or going. Vacant storefronts.

Parking fees might have seemed like a simple manner to boost revenue, but it is hurting this community. Encouraging people to visit, to dine and shop, attracting desirable tenants would seem to be the proper growth plan. Management should be incentivized to grow the community and keep it a very desirable place to work and live.
