Impromptu Visit

Very friendly and knowledgeable pourer. Enjoyed the Chardonnay and Pinot noir. The Syrah too. Norton and Chambourcin which can be difficult were very structured yet has finesse

This was the second time we'd been there. an expansion had occurred in the tasting room. Very Nicely done. And as last time, the wines were great and well presented. the White Pinot Noir was a light, tasty surprise. I prefer dry reds, but I found a couple of the white's to my liking - the St. Mary's especially. they... More

Did a tasting here in the evening during the week and wish we'd come with more time before they closed. The wine is actually delicious and they have a huge variety. The grounds are beautiful; the patio has shaded picnic tables, cornhole, adirondack chairs... We got cheese and crackers and bought a bottle of wine and sat out for as... More

Upon entering the tasting room, you are welcomed. Tasting is $5 which was perfect. You can taste any bottle that is opened and if you buy a glass it is $5. Of course we left with 3 bottles. Great stop one mile off the highway. You won't be disappointed..

While traveling back to NC we decided to stop at a few vineyards. Rockbridge was a beautiful discovery with a relaxed atmosphere. They have a variety of sweet and dry wines. I just wished the wine glass was included in the wine tasting as it is at most of the NC vineyards. Everything was reasonably priced.

Quiet tasting room with an extremely knowledgeable staff. The grounds are great to walk along the grapes and sit outside to enjoy a glass of wine!

We had an enjoyable tasting here with our hostess. The area was very pretty. This was a smaller winery.

Jane made us feel welcome from the moment we walked into the tasting room. She had a special way of suggesting the next wine based on our comments from the previous wine. It was an enjoyable visit and we took a few bottles home.

Within a mile of I-81 at the Raphine exit, you'll find the Rockbridge Vineyard and it's worth the stop. I've always felt welcomed and enjoy tasting the new varieties they are producing, many win awards. In addition, their new tasting room adds a touch of rustic elegance that might be complete now. Another addition I found was a variety of... More

The wine and the hospitality are excellent at this small winery not far from Virginia Military Institute. We tasted 11 different wines and all were very good. We ended up buying 6 bottles. This winery is definitely worth the detour and the area is full of history of not only the Civil War but the Revolutionary War as well.
