Lovely place

Most of Otium Cellars wines are on the drier side so on that basis, I stuck with wines as I prefer them to reds. The selections were all very mild save the Chardonnay Reserve. It was a nice little winery but for the most part not my cup of tea, aslo their parking is not marked, so you have no... More

It is NOT in town. It's down a dirt road to the south of town. Just as a warning. However, when you arrive, it's a lovely pace. The place has horses, although there are signs to leave them in peace. The tasing room (what is pictured here) looking like a rustic cabin, with a few tables outside. Good picnic place.... More

A lovely afternoon of excellent VA wines (often hard to come by) and a gorgeous horsey farm setting. Friendly, professional and informative wine tasting. (Came here after Catoctin Distillery, good whisky but unorganized much less professional service)

Friendly staff (Nick) welcomed us in on a cold winter's day. The place was empty, but it was on a Monday afternoon. Wines were good. Notable the Pinot Grigio and the Blaufrankisch were our favorites. The Pinot Grigio was smooth with less of the tart, and more of the soft floral. Blaufrankisch is the Lemberger grape, and similar in palate... More

This place is delightful! It's a winery...on a farm, what more could you ask for? A great escape from "city life." We were able to see horses, chickens, and a potbelly pig. The wine tasting was reasonably priced and I enjoyed most of the wines.

The farm/winery is adorable. There is a banquet room, and outside seating area, enclosed with a fireplace and comfortable seating. And the wines! We loved all of the reds. They all had a great peppery flavor. I need to return here regularly.

I belong to three wine clubs including this one. Their whites are exceptionally smooth and buttery. I like Pino Gregio but wasn't as taken by the Cab Sav (you can taste the stainless steel vat). You watch the horses go by and the polo ponies in the side yard while the girls practice their dressage.

An incredible way to spend the afternoon with friends. The wine tasting was reasonably priced. Tara, our wine steward, was knowledgable and made us feel very welcome. The building offers a bar tasting area as well as at tables. Bringing your own snacks is encouraged. The new addition was open and offers a large space with live entertainment. It is... More

Love this place. The staff are very friendly and Tara, the manager is super sweet. The owners are from Germany and raise and train horses, which are on the property. They just finished a party room, but I prefer the out door cabana room. In the colder months there is a fireplace and is a very comfortable place to entertain.... More
