Hands on fun for the kids

The facility was clean, bright, and innovative. Definitely fun for the kids! They had a blast and you can do the museum in less than 2 hours and park on the street.

One of the better children's museums that we have been to. Easy street parking. Great exhibits, fun and interesting. Would highly recommend, especially on a hot summer day. Also within easy walking distance of the Marriott.

We were passing through from the beach to Charlottesville Va and I have seen many posts on FB about this particular museum. We stopped and I'm glad we did. You could spend the whole opening hours in the museum. We spent about 3 but didnt get to the museum till 1pm. Just watch where you park. Street parking is 2... More

We stopped here today as we were traveling to Delaware. Our kids 12, 9, 8 and 18 months absolutely loved it and there was something for all of them to do! The train set is amazing and all the different set ups were so engaging for their little minds. I def recommend it to anyone traveling through Portsmouth!

We've been to Children's Museums in a few different states, but this ranks up near the top! It is very well laid out and there are many things to do for kids of all ages. The bubble room was definitely a highlight for our kids who loved being inside their own bubble (our kids are 2 and 5). The train... More

Ok, I admit that I really wanted to go for myself as I'm the biggest kid in the family. Perhaps that's why my review was just average vs. something better. Keep in mind average for a children's museum is my comparison to other children's museums. It's par for the course, and they do a nice job compared to others. It's... More

I went with my daughter and two small grandchildren. So much hands on things to see and do. I love this place. I signed up immediately for a membership. I can take the grandkids anytime and not worry about "don't touch". It's DO touch! Touch all you want! Awesome! Thank you Portsmouth. Every city should have a Children's museum.

We were visiting Norfolk for a conference and having arrived early, decided to take the kids to the children's museum. Great experience. We are members of the children's museum of Richmond and have been relatively spoiled. This museum was such a pleasant experience. Our 4 and 2 year olds both enjoyed it immensely. All of the hands on experiments and... More

Very enjoyable! Lots for children to do. Everything from pretend grocery shopping with lots of pretend food, cash registers, so much fun! Or perhaps ride a bus or be the bus driver? Maybe be a veterinarian and take care of cats and dogs! Or, blow bubbles that surround you! Many more fun things that spark your child's imagination and bring... More
