When you arrive, you will need $3 dollars cash. Fill out the envelope to deposit your money- other half of envelope hangs on your window and shows you paid so you don't get the $75 ticket. Real bathrooms along with a map board before you start on the trails with a few picnic tables in that same area. Parking lot... More

I grew up around this area and have visited the falls many times. My wife had never been so we took a day trip up there and it was a perfect day for the hike. Took the lower trail up and the easier upper trail back. The Cascades were running nice and full and there was a slew of people... More

Nice walk in the woods up to the cascades (about 1.5 miles each way). Pretty waterfalls Lots of wading pools for the kids to play in, but he water is cold even in summer

Wonderful hike during any season, blossoming plants in the spring, refreshing cold water in the summer, gorgeous leaves in autumn, and stunning frozen falls in the winter. The hike itself is quite easy and short, appropriate for children and people who may not be avid hikers.

Excellent hike to the falls on the Lower Trail. We went up on a 45 degree day after a multi-day deep freeze. The ice on the creek and the falls was stunning. The trail was a little hazardous with ice but nothing that a slow, steady pace and careful foot placement couldn't cure. Please note that the canyon is a... More

This is my favorite place for a weekend day outdoor activity with friends and family. It is beautiful in all 4 seasons. It is colorful in spring and fall, cool in summer. I have not be there in winter but is planning to do so soon. The sound of running water is very soothing as you walk along the trails... More

We first hiked this in September 2015. From the moment we left we have been talking about when we could come back. We finally made it back and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. This was one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever done. Almost the entire trail is creekside...I mean lean over at any point... More

We hiked this trail while visiting our son at VA Tech. We opted to hike the upper route to the falls which is a steady uphill trek but has a clearly defined path. We reversed and hiked the lower route on the way back which does not have the incline but you need to make sure where you place your... More

Great place for hiking. Serene and soothing. Beautiful and calming. Some caveats; It's a half a day trip. 4 miles round trip. Not suitable for small children and unfit people. Go with a company if it can be helped. Hiking shoes are strongly recommended. Here are 3 trails, and but the more beautiful ones are the hardest. Anywhere between 5-15... More

This was one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever been on. We went with my daughter and her friends while visiting her at Virginia Tech. It was easy to get to and $3 parking was fine. The hike was easy, but interesting, right along the river. We want to go back in the summer months when the water... More
