This little church is dedicated to St James of Compostela surprisingly. It’s a little gem of a place, tiny but with beautiful stained glas windows and a great sense of peace.

St James Church sits in a picturesque setting above the Kerikeri Basin. Built in 1874, it features the architecture of the nineteenth century, and provides a link back to the Anglican Mission established in Kerikeri in 1819. Still very much an active place of worship, it has been sensitively enlarged to meet the needs of a growing congreagtion, while retaining its historic charm. Well worth a visit.

It seems that there are churches every where and this is no exception. Lovely little church overlooking the basin. Worth a visit when passing.

Gorgeous church surrounded by stunning old graves.

Still a functioning church which has managed to maintain it's history but with modern hints.

So close to the stone store you simply must drop in.

Lovely small wooden church with long history in New Zealand. It's still in regular use. From the grounds you can see the Kerikeri River and the Stone Store, the oldest stone building in New Zealand.

Captivating and interesting little church with wonderful stained glass windows each end. Beautiful woodwork and nicely kept church. Gardens are so pretty overlooking the Inlet and the historic graveyard beside the church very interesting. A lovely little walk up the hill from the Stone Store and very well worth a visit. Would be a dream place for a wedding.

A great place for a quick stop just up from the Stone Store. It’s a small church but the stained glass is interesting.

Lovely to walk up the hill from the Stone Store and wander around the cemetry and inside the church. Good to see this historic building still being used as a church.

I lived in Kerikeri as a child and remember the St James Church very well. It is literally a hundred metres from the historic Stone Store and the old Kemp House.
