If you are not a chocolate lover, you will be by the time you leave this place. They offer tastings of their 'product of the day' and even the tiniest morsel has you drooling for more. Staff are very friendly and engaging, they're not the type to hide behind the counter either. They will be out on the floor to... More

Makana cafe opened and as a local we flocked to this new cafe. What a disappointment. Beautiful surrounds but so expensive. $8.50 for a slice to go with a coffee. A coffee that was luke warm and a wait of over 30 mins to recieve. This cafe is clearly catering for tourists and ripping them off as the buses stop... More

Amazing, handmade chocolates at the shop and fantastic sweet treats at the cafe. The coffee is strong and perfect with all the sweet foods. The staff were lovely at both.

Not to be missed if you love good coffee, fine patisserie and yummy chocolates. The coffee and chocolate eclairs were as good as any we've eaten in France (and we have tried many) if not better. The chocolate shop next door is a must. Welcoming staff, samples to taste and seeing the production make this a more than worthwhile visit.

I have visited Makana many times and love their treats! Thare are always sample for you to try as you enter the store and the staff are very friendly. My favourite is the "Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch". I am salivating thinking about it right now. The new renovations are great. The café next door is excellent and the gelato is... More

Beautiful premises and friendly staff. We visited in August so weather wasn't great. Cafe has a wonderful outdoor area that will be fantastic in summer. Great place to enjoy a coffee. Highly rate the caramel corn. Will be back!

I visited the Makana factory in Kerikeri NZ last year and Im so rapt I did. They have the best macadamia brittle and macadamia butter toffee crunch. I order them every year as I don't live near either factory. I highly recommend their beautiful products.

Whenever we are holidaying in Bay of Islands area, we would definately make an effort to visit the shop and we never come out empty hand. Just love their chocolate. A nice treat after dinner with a cup of tea. You can also see how the chocolate is made in the shop which is fun for young kids, too.

Visited this renovated chocolate factory outlet and patisserie and found both delightful. In the factory you can see the chocolates being made and there are free tastings when you arrive. An amazing variety of different chocolates. The patisserie next door is very modern, the welcome warm and the selection excellent.
