Whenever we are holidaying in Bay of Islands area, we would definately make an effort to visit the shop and we never come out empty hand. Just love their chocolate. A nice treat after dinner with a cup of tea. You can also see how the chocolate is made in the shop which is fun for young kids, too.

Visited this renovated chocolate factory outlet and patisserie and found both delightful. In the factory you can see the chocolates being made and there are free tastings when you arrive. An amazing variety of different chocolates. The patisserie next door is very modern, the welcome warm and the selection excellent.

Visited the Makana chocolate factory outlet after a long time. Was surprised to see their renovated outlet and they have added a cafe next to the chocolate factory outlet. Amazing decor, friendly staff and a great range of ice creams & pastries. A must visit when in Paihia / Kerikeri region.

It was nice to look in and see the chocolate being made, very nice to try the free samples, but very expensive. With most items being $20+ We purchase a single chocolate for $2 - not because were stingey, but because the chocolate was overpriced, but we did want to buy something.

They have recently opened a café that is right next door to the chocolate factory. Serving ice cream and gelato in several flavours and also a variety of coffee/ tea and sweet treats. Beautifully kitted out and a really nice place to stop. The chocolate factory is great as they have a real room where people are making what they... More

We couldn't resist buying from this chocolate factory after sampling some of the beautiful products. The staff are friendly and some of the flavours are quite unique and delicious. Don't miss out on this great place to stop and also watch the confectioners working.

I was doing a tour in the Marlborough wine area and tasted some wonderful wines. At end of day I was taken to Makara - greeted by an employee with sample chocolates or confectionary. I am not a great fan of chocolate but after tasting a couple there was no way I was going to leave without making a purchase.... More

Fantastic place to visit. Lots of variety of chocolates. You can see the chocolates being made. We bought Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch. Scrumptious. Expensive but worth the money.
