This old store is very well kept and has some very interesting items for sale. A picturesque place with good parking and toilet facilities and 2 cafes. Very restful gardens.
We joined a private tour of the stone museum and Kemp house. It was very informative and gave us an insight into the history of New Zealand. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and the river a great place to picnic, or swim.
come and visit this place and the surrounding area and learn some of our history here. Interesting to read and see this in the context of other happenings in the wider area. Recommend.
We walked from one side to the other, a real tranquil place to visit, don't forget to get your photo taken outside the store. Cross over to the other side and spot the unusual Roosters and hens.

Nice little shop in a gorgeous setting just out of town. Unfortunately wheelchair access wasn't good so we didn't stay long. Worth a look.
