Choose a 'Martinborough in a Day' tour and take the stress out of drink/driving. Fully hosted, visit four vineyards, enjoy a lovely vineyard lunch and visit an Olive Grove or take the 'Pinot to Palliser Bay' tour for something different. This tour goes to the fishing village of Ngawi and the seal colonies at Cape Palliser. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch on the beach and a beer or coffee at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel. All tours are conducted in luxury vehicles hosted by a local who knows the region intimately. This is your opportunity to go behind the scenes, meet winemakers and producers not normally available to the general public, while at the same time tasting the fantastic produce and wines of the region.

Louise (tour guide/driver) picked us up from our Peppers Parehua Hotel in a nice new VW van seating 6 people for what turned out to be a fantastic afternoon. The wineries visited gave an excellent cross-section of the available product of the region and NZ. From the quirky Mark Haythornthwaite (with all wines named after a female relative or friend)... Apologies this is a few months late, but myself and my partner were lucky enough to have Roger bring us on our tour. We had an absolute ball!!We tasted some beautiful wines (and bought quite a few more bottles!!) and Roger charmed us with his own personal stories and history about Martinborough. My parents are visiting New Zealand early next... More

Lou picked us up from Peppers in a comfortable van and we headed to two great wineries, then had a lunch which was disappointing. I don't think they were expecting us so we had a long wait. We knew we were getting platters but I think we assumed it may be meat/seafood. Its just crackers, toast and cheese and some... More

I highly recommend this tour! Jill was a great guide and very friendly. She picked us up at the train station in Featherston and dropped us off in Martinborough where we went for lunch at Café Medici - brilliant place. We then started the wine tour. We went to 5 different vineyards, all with great wines! Jill gave us a... More

We caught the train from Wellington which was really good way to see more of the region and were picked up at Greytown by the Wine Tour operator. First coffee and the off to the first two wineries. Both were great and depending on the time of year the wineries that you go to are often different. Lunch was very... More

All the things you mentioned, the private tour that enables us to be flexible on the tour, giving you a little history of the town and characters in it and imparting the wine knowledge we have are what we do to set ourselves apart from other tours. In addition... More

Thanks to Simon we has a smashing afternoon out, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful tailoring the trip to our whims. We enjoyed all the wineries and collected several bottles on the way! Simon even called in at the local butchers Scotties on the way home so we could pick up some bbq meat and very nice it was too!

Simon shared some history of the region and details about the vineyards. Just the right amount of information. He took us to 3 amazing wineries and we enjoyed the comfort of his van. A great way to see the vineyards, especially out of the square.

I had a great day touring Martinborough with Simon. I agree with earlier posts - just relax and leave it all to Simon, he has great knowledge of both wine and the area and will take you where you want to go. I visited 5 wineries including Ata Rangi, Alexander and Murdoch James (where I had lunch). My two favourite... More
