This is a stretch of beach which has lots of entertainment such as cafes bars and restaurant close by. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 access to these areas have been largely restricted. At any rate being winter it also makes it a bit cold for a swim.

It's still a great area for a walk or just to take in some fresh air. We like to travel a little further up the beach to Peasholm where our pooch loves a run and swim regardless of the weather. Great spot close to Perth with lots of public transport that can take you here as well.

As cafes and restaurants begin to open up next week we will be returning for the entertainment.

Now... My experience was excellent how ever don't go on a public holiday and probably not if your driving on the weekend.. the beach we as pretty quiet yet still no where near enough local parking.
That said the sand was white and soft. The Ocean was clean and warm. It was well supervised by the surf life guard though the flags were too close together giving a fairly small window to swim esspecially with small children as that area gets quite congested with groups of people body surfing.
Apart from the ocean the apres beach is really good. Lots of reasonably priced cafes and bars. People also just come to hang out and relax at night at the Ampitheatre to watch the sun go down.
We really really enjoyed it and despite it previously having a bad reputation for uncontrollable youths we didn't see any bad behaviour and hopefully since its major redevelopment that side of things have gone. Well worth a visit in the summer.

The wide open space between residential development and the ocean is a please to enjoy.
To see dunes and not fences is a rarity and is to be seen to be believed.
And the sun setting over water is a sight to behold especially having a glass of sparkling wine in hand and beautiful family to share it with.

I was fined here while at a work meeting. I parked in a 2 hour area and looked around extensively for signs when I exited the car. Couldn’t find any so thought it was fine. Got fined because I was there for 3 hours in a 2 hour zone. The area is very poorly signed so just be careful when parking there and look around carefully. Charging $80 to people who overstay by 1 hour is blatant revenue raising!

If you need to go somewhere close for a swim, then Scarborough beach is perfect. It is about 20 minutes from the city and there is space for many activities such as surfing and snorkeling. There are many cafes and bars you can visit. There is also a $30 million revitalization scheduled for more activities on the beach.

I have been coming to Scarborough Beach for over nearly 50 years. I remember our 'All Night sessions around bonfires whilst sitting alongside our 4x4s listening to music on the beach from car cassette players over 35+ years ago.

A lot has changed since then. The facelift that it has just gone through is amazing and a credit to the planners.

The beach front has a theatre style construction for events and the shops and numerous bars line the roadway but still give a scenic view whilst not encroaching on the beach front.

The grassed hill, skate park, swimming pool add to the aesthetic of the area. I lo be the markets that are a regular feature and multi cultural influence that it attracts. Well done. I regularly visit now.

Things change for a reason but I might add that I still can recall these past days with lots of fond memories which I feel this newly revamped Scarborough Beach will provide the same for this generation.

The beach is still pristine and well used by locals and tourists alike.

Scarborough beach is lovely clean with a great beach with clear water. So peaceful and the cafe and restaurants around the beach are plentiful. Also a Coles in the centre 5 mins from the beach with a few shops and bakery there. Worth a visit from Perth and can be reached by train then the bus stops right at the station to take you to the beach so good with the connections from train to bus. If you have a smart rider just tag on the train and bus from Perth and off at the beach.

Scarborough is such a beautiful beach with so much else going on! The sunset markets on Thursday evenings are definitely worth a visit! So many restaurants to see along the road by the beach or bbqs to use for a cheaper day out. The life guards always do a great job of looking after everyone as well. Highly recommend!

We were both fairly familiar with Scarborough, my wife from younger days and myself from 2010 when I was lucky to enjoy some luxurious accommodation while working in Perth for 11 weeks. Much has changed with the redevelopments of the foreshore area and allied infrastructure. Beach still looks great but little patronage on the day. Great adjacent facilities and no doubt the sunset is just as magical as when I enjoyed it from my balcony on the 9th floor.

Scarborough Beach is a lovely place for the family to hang out. There is a whale playground, skating park and rock climbing wall that will attract all ages. The beach itself is maybe not suitable for young kids as the winds can be strong and in turn, lead to large waves (at least on the 2 occasions we visited).

The sunset was unbelievable to watch.
