Parked at waterfall car park and walked back to road bridge over creek. Beautiful scene of creek winding through scrub towards hills. Till reading prior reviews I was unaware of rock stacking tradition at beach estuary. Will return again with kids who’d love that afternoon project.

We searched Carisbrook Creek on Google Maps, and ended up in a dead end mud-filled dirt road into a forest ... after traveling a long way pass Beech Forests. Good thing we had a 4WD. Visitors to this site do be careful. Thankfully, we weren’t the only ones lost. There were two other cars looking for the same place in the wrong place. You can’t go wrong if you go by the Great Ocean Road from Apollo Bay, and turn off at Carisbrook Falls (do not trust goggle maps). You can park there and walk across to the beach area to see the rock stacks. There were a few interesting rock formations to view. Glad we eventually found the place ...

We had read about the rock stacks and definitely wanted to stop, add a stack each and keep going, when we got there there were not too many around but the place was definitely where the stacks were to be made, loads of flat rocks. Well worth the time to do if you want a little fun doing something different on the way down the Great Ocean Road

Great fun for all and kept our group busy for more than 2 hours adding to the landscape.

Car park opposite side so be careful crossing the road.

Rock pools are also fun to explore

Instead of whining about it being washed away and giving it one star, just help rebuild it!
We were there, and although there were not that many stacks, it is still a nice place for a stop.
And, like we did, just help rebuild it! Let's make Carisbrook Creek great again!

We were desperate to see this place after all the reviews, we drove for ages to get here along dirt roads. Finally we got to the last little road that you need to get to the creek and it was a muddy boggy dirt road. We were unable to enter and there was no where safe for us to leave our car to try and walk the last 1.7 metres to the creek. We were so disappointed! My advice to you is to make sure you have a 4wd car so you don't get bogged. PS there is NO mobile range out there. It is very isolated.

We were looking forward to seeing these rock stacks as we have something similar near to where we live. We firstly struggled to find it, but after that we found not much there. We asked the information centre the next day and were told a big king tide had come in a and washed most of the rocks away :(

I had read a few weeks ago that the rock stacks were back....but then a local said they were gone again. Maybe they come and go with high tides?

We went there yesterday and there were a couple stacks. We created another 4 stacks but when we passed this morning all had been knocked down. Not sure if someone deliberately knocks them over or the sea tide does. Access is down small track on Apollo Bay side of bridge.
