After the devastating bushfires of the north it was nice to visit this lush, green park in the city. Paths are easy to follow, maps are detailed and you could easily take a stroller or wheelchair around. Lots of birdlife and snake warning signs. I was especially pleased to see the environmentally friendly sinks at the toilets. I visited Lizard Log about 9am on s weekday and it was pleasantly quiet but the facilities & number of BBQ's suggests it could easily cater to hundreds. I enjoyed my visit.

I took a good walk around the section near the Lizard Log playground south of Prospect Reservoir. A couple of sections had good forest but most were overgrown fields, betraying the history of the “parklands” and the lack of work done to them. Paths were mostly wide unshaded paved paths shared with bicycles or were simply roads - they really prefer people drive rather than walk. I have seen some wooded sections north of Prospect Reservoir but most required a bit of bush bashing and jumping fences (Nurragingy was one decent spot and even that had questionable access). I live in the east and there are many good old parks and bushland and I really think we can give the same quality to the people in the west.

Nurrangingy reserve, part of the Western Sydney Parklands is a peaceful oasis in the middle of our busy city. Whether it is sitting around the pond or on a walk through the bush or in one of the many picnic/bbq areas I find myself being so relaxed. There are great play areas for the kids and tons of parking.

It is a great place to let your furry family to run wild and make friends with others. It is also easy to get to.

Its my first visit to Bungarribee, Western Sydney Parklands, and I had a great visit. I initially visited for the off leash Dog Park, called Warrigal Run, which was excellent. A very decent sized area, but there is enough room that it could be bigger. Great drinking fountains for people & dogs so you don't have to bring your own, bins for doggy droppings, seats and a few shade areas. When I was there, all the dogs were well behaved, did not see one incident of upset between dogs or people. Then we put on the leash and had a walk around the park. A great area for kids to play with many structures that were very interesting and creative, also seating area for the waiting parents and the necessary facilities. There is so many different areas throughout the park with covered seating and shade for family picnics, and plenty of BBQ's that are well maintained and very clean. Lots of parking also. When I was there, no even a third of the seats were taken. There is a lot of land left still vacant, I assume awaiting future developments. A great way to spend a few hours and have a great day. Will be back.
