We were traveling across Puerto Rico for two weeks and chose Culebra as our last 3-days stay before going back. A friend of hours recommended Lemuel to us, and we signed up his tour. Since we had more time, Lemuel suggested us to take a double tour: swimming with turtles, and coral reef snorkeling. We agreed since it was a private individual tour at the same price as a regular packed group tour (which I personally don't like).

Lemuel showed a great attitude, passion and professionalism at the same time. I work in an entertainment industry myself and know how important is this to keep passion and share it with the clients. Lemuel is def a great person, great professional, and dedicated so his passion.

So, the tour was something I would never think about. We saw not just turtles, but manta rays, big and small fishes, sea stars, seashell crabs, jellyfish. The coral reef experience was something magical, I barely spoke as I was so deep (no pun intended, I was floating on the surface) in the process. Lemuel would show us around, explain how animals live and react, give us insights and attracted our attention to small thing we would never see on ourselves.

I recorded our adventures on a waterproof smartphone case at it looks great, much better than I expected (I'm a professional photographer myself).

My advice is not booking both sessions back to back and to have a small breakfast break in between to get some warmth and process what you just saw.

If you are unsure, hesitant, afraid, inexperienced - put it all aside and book your private tour with Laura! She was FANTASTIC from beginning to end! We received detailed directions on how to obtain our ferry tickets and get to Culebra, she maintained contact via text the day of our tour, and she picked us up right off the ferry. I was beyond nervous to swim in the ocean, I’d never been snorkeling and I’m not a strong swimmer. But Laura talked me through the entire process and she (literally) held my hand until I felt comfortable and ready to be on my own in the water. She allowed us to go at our own pace and made certain that we felt safe before we moved further into the water.

Laura was born and raised in PR, so she knew all of the sweet spots and exactly where to go to see the most sea life. We saw tons of turtles, the biggest sting ray I’ve ever seen, beautiful vibrant fish, coral reefs and even held a sea urchin! She shared little facts along the way about the different plants and animals we saw and she snapped so many pictures of us in and under the water. We were never rushed or hurried along and she asked throughout the entire tour if we were comfortable with continuing further. After the tour, Laura personally prepared sandwiches and snacks for us to have and talked with us as if we were friends of the family until we were ready to pack up.

She dropped us off at Flamenco beach for about 4 hours, and returned to pick us up in time to catch the ferry back to Cieba. After being so hesitant and afraid of going through with the tour, I couldn’t be happier that I did! Laura was absolutely amazing and I will 100% reach out to her again when we return to the island.

You must book with Laura and Damien, they are truly amazing from the beginning of booking to the departure.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience snorkeling with the sea turtles and exploring one of the world's best beaches, Flamenco beach. Damien was so quick to respond to my booking questions and Laura, his amazing wife, was incredible during our snorkeling time in the water. We saw so many turtles, cool fish, an octopus, stingray and so much more. I even got to hold a sea urchin! They take photos during your entire snorkeling trip, so don't even bother with our own camera you will want to enjoy the time in the water and not stress about getting your own photos.

After we were done snorkeling Laura packed us traditional Puerto Rican sandwiches, chips and drinks. She drove us to Flamenco and picked us up in time for our ferry. It was incredible. My Fiance and I felt like we stepped into a postcard and kept saying "Is this real life?"

I could make this review a lot longer, but I will try and make it short and sweet.

Book with CIA - It is way more intimate and you will get way better service than those other companies!!

Thank you both so much, we will never forget it and cannot wait to come back!!

Since my teenage daughter and I came to Culebra to relax for a few days, we were unsure about whether we wanted to spend any time doing tours... we are so glad that we chose to do so, and that we chose Culebra Island Adventures! While we were disappointed to hear that they weren't offering kayak tours anymore, the Turtles & More tour did not disappoint! It was the perfect way to get acquainted with the island and its diverse array of sea life. We saw many turtles, manta rays, beautiful fish, sea urchins, lobsters, barracuda, and even an octopus. Our guide, Laura, spent time telling us about the history of the preserve and the animals that we were seeing. She also took the most amazing photos to document our adventure! I am so glad that we chose to do this tour - it was the highlight of our trip to Puerto Rico, and my daughter and I can look back at the photos and treasure the memories we made together. If you are planning a trip to Culebra, don't miss the opportunity to kick off your trip with Culebra Island Adventures!

My one daughter was very nervous about snorkeling and had a couple of major breakdowns while getting started and both damien and Laura were both so kind and never gave up on her and by the end she was diving down by the turtles and swimming faster than any of us. Thank you so much for your kindness and patience it gave our family an experience we will never forget. Also not sure if it was because it was sunday but only two food places open at flamenco beach so it took forever to get food so it was nice that we had brought some snacks.

We had a wonderful time during our snorkel trip with Laura and Damian! Tamarindo Beach is beautiful and is teeming with gorgeous wildlife. We saw sea turtles, sting rays, lobsters, sea urchins, starfish, and a vast array of fish. Laura was extremely knowledgeable regarding the wildlife in the reef and sea grass bed. She was very helpful in directing photo ops for us and taking over the photography. It was great to be able to focus on the scenery and experience instead of taking pictures! After snorkeling, we had a delicious spread of sandwichitos de mezcla which if you have never had you must try! Then Laura dropped us off at Flamenco Beach for the remainder of the day and offered suggestions on where to grab lunch as well as where to find some land turtles on the beach. She returned later on to drop us off at the ferry port and warmly sent us on our way. We will definitely be back next time we are in Puerto Rico!

Had a great day with Laura. She and Damian were a breeze to communicate with. They purchased ferry tickets for us which made catching the ferry easy. The ferries are nice, new and smooth. Laura picked us up from the station and drove us to Tamarindo beach. She guided us on a beautiful snorkel around the bay. She knew where all the best fish and animals were and pointed beautiful things we easily could have missed. She took amazing photos which she emailed to us. This was so nice and allowed us to just enjoy! Afterward she gave us sandwiches, drinks and fruit and then dropped us at Flamenco beach for 4 hours. It was as beautiful as promised and even though it was a busy beach you could easily spread out from other people and find a quiet spot. Then she picked us up and returned us to the ferry in time for the 5pm return ferry. It was nice to have just the two of us on the tour instead of going with dozens of others like many alternate tours. Would highly recommend!!

This was our favorite snorkeling trip! Laura and Damien were great communicators - easy to set up the tour and flexible with scheduling. We saw SO much underwater life and Laura took great pics of it all! Don't miss this trip! It would be worth planning all other adventure scheduling around this availability. The time at Flamengo Beach was perfect. Absolutely beautiful beach. Bring beer as all places are closed around the beach. Laura's lunch was yummy!! A perfect day!

Although the people were very nice, you stay in one location for 3 hours!!!! They pretend that you are going to a different location to see different things but it is all within 100 feet.

I have snorkled in many countries, and this was a complete rip off. You are NOT ALLOWED to swim over the reef. Only to the SIDE of it!!!

Unless you are solely interested in looking at the reef, without seeing more than 3 types of fish, do NOT use this company. In addition, they claim to take lots of pictures, and my 10 year old would look like a professional next to what they give you.

We are extremely disappointed to hear your negative opinion and are unsure if you even booked a tour with us, we routinely ask all our customers if they are enjoying their time during and after the tour and none have complained to us. As per our Facebook and Tripadvisor pages you can clearly see that Culebra is home to over 150 species of fish (not just 3 as you claim), and most importantly the Green sea turtle which you did not mention in your review. In regards to where our tour goes...we go well beyond "100 feet"; we actually kayak for more than 3,300 feet (6,600 feet round trip; 1.25 miles) just to get to our first snorkeling part of two. We also take over 200 photos on average which we professionally retouch and then post on an accessible website for all to see and use at no additional cost; where everybody raves of the "great photos." As proof that we are committed to our clients complete satisfaction we would love to return 100% of your money if you contact us and can provide proof of your paid tour (along with your contact info). If we don't hear from you soon we will assume that you had been with another tour operator and not with us. Best wishes, CIA Team

We scheduled a tour as well as a transportation services from the company. The ferry was scheduled to leave at 9 am(informed by the Culebra Island Adventures), we got the ferry ticket ON OUR OWN around 8:37 am (There was no one guide you at the ferry). The tickets showed the same departure time as 9:00 am, however, the ferry left the dock at 8:40 am. The poor services and inaccurate information from Culebra Island Adventures made us miss the ferry. We were really pissed off and waited for hours until got onto the next ferry. After knowing that we missed the very frist ferry, the company decided not to pick us up on the island, and they didn't not pick up my calls. I was really sad that I didn't make the tour. What's worse, the company insisted that it is our fault to miss the ferry and charged me the full amount of $208. DO NOT BOOK THE TRIP WITH THE COMPANY! BELIEVE ME!

Dear Fredric, In fact we are also very sad that you could not make it to the tour, but what we are most saddened about is that you fail to say how you missed the same ferry that the two other parties who were ridding with you on the same private transportation we arranged for you to make it to the ferry terminal. How did they make it on and you did not? You are the first customer in our almost two year long business history to have missed the ferry in a terminal that only has two destinations. We cannot be responsible for your carelessness and irresponsibility. As per our over 200 excellent reviews we always do all we can to make it a great experience. Best, CIA Team
