Kayak Equipment Rental at The Condado Lagoon

23 reviews
Our experience is really special because of the ecosystem of the lagoon. It is very common to come across manatees that feed on seagrass and that live in harmony with so many other marine species that live there. The lagoon is an important natural reserve that is protected for study and conservation as it is part of the San Juan Bay estuary. It also has a community of natural and artificial reefs that make the experience even richer. The flora, the mangroves, the landscape and how the species live in their natural ecosystem is an experience added to the sport to be performed in the lagoon. These conservation efforts seek to educate and increase knowledge for their conservation and the enjoyment of these beauties. The best thing is that it is centrally located at the entrance to San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico and the historic center that is the largest tourist attraction on the island.

Landed very early AM at Aguadilla airport on a Sunday morning for a business luncheon at the Punta Borinquen without any luggage. Surf Zone was open before even the local discount stores on a Sunday am and were so helpful for getting me quickly and efficiently what I needed for a day of business and pleasure. I told the owner what I needed, and she quickly got a dressing room and pulled for me shoes, pants and a shirt appropriate for a business casual lunch. I was in and out with two days of clothing in 15 minutes. It’s not just for surfers and skaters. Thoughtful and efficient service.

We dropped in after walking out to Survivor Beach (also very cool!). The staff greeted us immediately upon entering the store and made sure to answer any questions on the items in the store as well as the local area. Thanks Surf Zone!

Been going here for years when visiting Isabella and Aguadilla,,Great owners and staff..wonderful inventory..close to airport, surfer's beach and marriot hotel and casino..a definite must if you are a visiting surfer to this area..i just read the negative comment about a return policy..I am from California and a lot of surf shops say the same thing on their receipts..I would have asked for the owner..Yes,online can be more reasonable but this is a great surf shop for Puerto Rico and it always costs more for the owners to ship in items to an island..All island stores have extra costs ..and that includes the Hawaiian Islands..As far as peaceful and relaxing??It is a lovely, clean, well organized surf shop..Which I could say is relaxing when shopping ..And many seniors 55+ surf and would love this shop..

My family bought a surf board leash about 10 days ago, but wanted to return it because it seemed to be too long and clumsy for our small child. We have the original receipt and never used the item. I called them up in advance since we couldn't be there again so easily. The worker said to me that they only could give us store credit, even for the item we never used and even for the purchase within 2 weeks. On the receipt, there are small letters saying "exchange or store credit". How can we know such a ridiculous policy till we buy there and find such small writing on receipt? Refusing reasonable returns is almost illegal in the US!!! Any surf items were much cheaper online than in this store but my family wished to encourage local business. Some people just take advantage and are being unfair. We didn't even want their store credit. We'll just never go there again.

Response from Becky T, Owner at Surf Zone
Responded Apr 14, 2016
Becky T, Owner at Surf Zone, responded to this review, Apr 11, 2016 Hello, I am sorry that you are upset with our store policy and customer service. Had you come into the store before you had departed the island we would have happily exchanged your child's surf leash for the correct size. We offer over 20 different sizes and brands and with our 30 year experience we most likely would have found exactly what your child needed. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and we would be happy to exchange the cord should you wish to send it back. Just provide your child's weight and surfboard length and we will provide you with leash that suits your child the best. Best Regards. Rebecca Taylor owner Surf Zone.
