About
Jump off the pier into the turquoise waters at Playa Crashboat—the calm waters are home to an array of marine life, perfect for snorkeling and diving. Hop on a banana boat for a thrilling ride around the beach, then hit the food trucks around the pier for a pina colada and casual Puerto Rican fare. Later in the day, walk to the lookout to watch the sunset.
You'll find picnic tables but no showers or toilet facilities. Both paid and free parking is limited, so be sure to arrive early. Or consider visiting along a tour of west Puerto Rico.

- MollyMinneapolis, Minnesota14 contributionsBeautiful views and a sandy beachBeautiful beach with lots of space and many food/drink vendors. We visited on a weekday, when the crowds are much smaller. Parking was easy (because it wasn’t very busy) and the walk to the beach is accessible. There are wheelchair-accessible ramps over the sand for those who need them. You’ll find that on the “furthest” beach on the access road, near all the vendor trucks. There was a stand for renting umbrellas and chairs, but I’m not sure how expensive it is. There are a few shady spots and picnic tables under the trees to give yourself a break from the sun. Watch the reports for riptides and be careful if you’re swimming near the dock. The current can be extra dangerous around the concrete pylons.Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 10, 2023
- Dos12345664 contributionsGreat fun beach!Amazing beach! Great sand, beautiful surrounding hills, and water that is calm enough to swim in (a few waves but not large ones). We arrived at 8am when the beach was calm and quiet, and later on it becomes a fun atmosphere full of locals with music and food stands. The food stands opened at around 11am and the car parks (3 different ones right near the sand) were easy to access (didn't become full until around 11am-12pm on a Saturday). The drive down is a little windy but a well maintained road. There are no public restrooms, but one restaurant has restrooms you can use and buying a drink there was $1.50 so definitely worth doing that. The pina coladas at the end kiosk were great - $5 without rum, $10 with, the pinchos stand is really yummy ($4 for chicken, $10 for fish), and coconut water for $4. You can get a shaded spot if you arrive early, otherwise can rent umbrellas. One of the best beaches we visited in terms of food, parking, atmosphere, water, surrounding beauty.Visited March 2023Written March 19, 2023

- Green-eyed-mamaDickson, Tennessee73 contributionsGreat for snorkelingAwesome beach for snorkeling. We saw fish, crabs, and corals. Water was gorgeous. There is a wheelchair path. Food kiosks and drinks lined the parking area/beach. There were caves in the rock cliffs. There are no bathrooms or showers; those buildings were either locked or broken/missing. Get there early to get a parking spot.Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 21, 2023
- Ingatnyc8 contributionsAmazing, Beautiful and Clean Beach!Beautiful, Amazing Beach! There is a lot of space to be alone or in the center of it all—great vendors are selling food, hats, and drinks. You can also rent a jet ski and there's a restaurant on site. The on-site DJ mentioned showers and a bathroom but I didn't see them. Parking fills up quickly.Visited April 2023Written April 14, 2023
- Loyda ElenaSan Antonio, Texas32 contributionsBest beach on island! The BEST beach on the island! Vibe is amazing, water is clear like a swimming pool and so much to do in just one location. From the jet skis, banana boat rides and ice cream guy who walks up and down the beach, this place is amazing. Word to wise, you will want to get there early to get good parking and beach real estate. It can get crowded, especially on weekends.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 3, 2023
- Angela SLamar, Missouri30 contributionsPopular for a ReasonIt's an absolutely gorgeous beach, but very popular. There will be people. Lots of people. The water was pristine and clear. Do yourself a favor and take a snorkel mask so you can look at all the fish that hang out under the pier. There are food vendors, chair and umbrella rentals, and jet ski rentals. We arrived around 10am and it was already starting to fill up. Get there early to scope out your space for the day.Visited June 2023Written June 12, 2023
- AtotheRuiz198488 contributionsBeautiful time at the beachWe arrived early - about 10 am. There was still parking in the not paid lot. But when we left there were cars all along the roads- so get there early! (Recommended). You can rent a sun unmbrella for $20 ish and a chair for $5/ each. For $30 we had shade all day til 4pm. The water is amazing and there are no little rocks when you try to get it so it is very nice shoreline. There are things r buy to eat and drink and there are things to rent like canoes, kayaks, banana boat rides, and jet skis. We did none of this— we just sat on the beach and went in the water and it was an amazing time. Plus a big iguana we named Fred came to see us.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 13, 2023
- EpiskunovGarfield, New Jersey160 contributionsLOVE THIS PLACE!!Awesome! Must visit BUT go early so you can find parking. We got there at 10am on a Tuesday (it was a holiday) and parking was completely full. Had to park up the road. So if you don’t get there early you will have to park up the road and it can be a bit steep. Note: stay away from the areas with yellow lines. You will get a parking ticket. This place was lots of fun. Kids will have a blast too. Water is so clean and clear, the beach too is clean. Everyone did a great job keeping track of their trash. So being garbage bags. If you don’t have an umbrella or chairs they have rentals there, chairs are $10 each and umbrella $20. They do require your government ID (ie: drivers license) and will hold it until you return to get it. Locals brought grills but there are food trucks there with great skewers, empanadas, and drinks (alcohol and no -alcoholic). Cash only and reasonable prices. (ie: one vendor had chicken or pork $4 / shrimp $5. The beverage vendor had piña colada without alcohol $6 (red cup) and lemonade large for $8 bother we’re delicious). NOTE: umbrella/chair rentals and food trucks are on the far right of the beach. Bathroom - there weren’t any or they were closed. The restaurant behind the food trucks can be used but they require you to buy two drinks. Not sure if it’s each time but I would assume so. How this helps.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 25, 2023

Beautiful beach, clean, neatly maintained areas, picnic tables, crowded after :10/00 am, cristal clear blue waters, you can watch fish schools under the pier looking down or jump into the waters and do some snorkeling, stingrays and lots of tropical fish . My grandkids loved it, bring food and water kiosks are pretty expensive and get long lines for ordering. O really, great relaxing place❤️

Beautiful beach. Great for kids too. Really nice with the multiple food and drink vendors. Made it convenient so we didn’t have to lug food with us. We brought floaties with us so we enjoyed using them. It gets really packed but there are multiple parking lots. Whatever you do, DO NOT park on the bridge. There are no signs and if you park after the wooden observation deck that is considered the bridge. They love to give out parking tickets here at $100 a pop. To pay parking tickets you can go to any Banco Popular (once the ticket is in the system - give it 2 days). Otherwise you have to go to Aguadilla municipal city hall and can pay on the 4th floor. Trust me. This is valuable information here and it took a while to find this out. Still worth the visit. If you want a quieter beach go to Pena Blanca.

Crashboat has always been one of my favorite beaches in Puerto Rico. The water is calm & clear. Plenty of space to lay out in the sand. There are various options for food (fritters, shish kabobs, piña colada, smoothies, etc). You can also enjoy banana boat rides (for a fee).
Note: It gets very busy on weekends and during June/July so arriving early is recommended in order to find parking.

The parking situation is strange. There is an easily missed entrance to the pay parking. If you miss it, you continue on to “free” parking. I say “free” but it really isn’t as there are a ton of locals sweeping sand off the asphalt that will help you park for a tip. There are zero “unmonitored” spots. This side is near the food vendors.
For snorkeling, the “pay parking side” (left of the docks if facing the ocean) seemed to have the best snorkeling. The most active areas were right at the corner of the last dock and a bit past it where the “boat” is (at least that’s what I think we saw….looked to be some sunken concrete slabs but a bunch of scuba divers where putting their flags there).
The food is…meh. Empanadas were literally from the frozen food aisle. Chicken on a stick was undercooked and fatty. The freshly cored pineapple with pina colada should have been delicious but used cheap alcohol and tasted not great.

Most Beautiful beach I think I’ve ever been to. The water was clean, warm, aqua blue, and there were plenty of food and drink spots on the beach. Also DJ and of course everyone else’s music playing. Just made this place even better. However, I did get a parking ticket because I parked on a “yellow line” I’m not from there and didn’t see the no parking sign anywhere, guess I didn’t try hard enough cause it was there. But when I parked, there were 6 other cars parked there and I even asked someone if this was ok parking and they said yes of course. They got tickets too lol but I noticed on the opposite side of the street there was no yellow on the sidewalk meaning they could park there. My ticket was $50 so just make sure you park in the right area. Hard to find parking when it’s busy. I got there on Thursday at 3pm.

To my surprise, this beach was "hopping" at the end of December 2020 considering the fact that by executive order, only individual exercise was allowed. People on towels, blankets, with coolers.... and nobody were masks, which at the time of the visit was required. Overall, the beach seems nothing special--PR has nicer beaches than this one.

This beach was amazing! Got there before 10 am for prime parking spot, beach was crowded by early afternoon. Crystal clear water, you can see both big and little fish swimming near you on the shore. Great snorkeling spot near the pier. Fresh Pina Coladas, all kinds of daiquiri's (banana, mango, strawberry, etc.) available for sale. Also, BBQ chicken, shrimp skewers, octopus ceviche. People selling hats, towels. Lots of great photo ops here. We stayed ALL DAY.
