Great experience from the initial email contact all the way through the final good-by after the dives were complete. The trip was well worth the early morning 2 hr drive from San Juan. The staff was top notch (extremely safety conscious) and I would not hesitate to dive with them next time I'm in PR. I did the 2 tank beach dive. First dive was at Crashboat Beach and the second just up the coast at Natural Beach. Crashboat was my favorite of the two due to the variety of sea life that we got to see. Due to strong currents, we adjusted the dive plan for Natural but even with the adjustment, it was still an amazing experience. If you're in PR, check out Damian and team at Aquatica. I've always enjoyed snorkeling but thought it would be fun to do a Discovery Scuba session. To say I was nervous is an understatement. Damien from Aquatica was amazing and I could not have completed the session without his expert guidance, calming skills, and patience. Because of him. I was able to experience the ocean from below, not just on the surface. We started with a classroom session and video, then headed to Crash Boat beach for the scuba. We started in 10 feet of water and got comfortable with the equipment and had to perform several skills tests. It was clear that safety was a priority, as well as our comfort with being underwater. We then swam to around 25 feet deep and the wreckage of the end of the pier caused by hurricane Maria. We saw a large stingray and an amazing assortment of colorful fish. Damien had a board that he could write on underwater, to point out what we were seeing. It was really a unique experience. If you are thinking of trying scuba, I highly recommend Aquatica and in particular Damien. Again, he was a really good teacher and very experienced in making you comfortable underwater.…

Although the current was too fast for the afternoon dive we booked, Gina was very friendly and the shop was professional. We ultimately ended up swimming out to Natural, but then weren't able to descend. We aborted our 2-tank dive plans and called it a day. As it was our first dive in PR, we were happy that we got a chance to check our weights and get a sense of what to expect from a shore dive. Gina was super apologetic, but it wasn't her fault at all. We have since learned that afternoon dives are iffy in PR. So, go with the "sure thing" of the morning dives and take an afternoon siesta before your night dive! When we got back to the shop, they offered us a full refund. We only asked to be refunded for a 1-tank dive, as they still had to spend all the effort to get us out to the site and get the tanks & weights ready, etc. I was appreciative of the offer for the full refund, but we we didn't feel right taking it. All-in-all, a very professional shop and we would definitely dive with them again!…
