- Steve RSt. Catharines, Canada33 contributionsGreat Morning TourPaulino took our family to many spots that had numerous birds. From Pink Flamingos to Bats, this was a fun and educational morning for myself, wife and kids. Paulino has a number of telescopes and binoculars which he provided. He would call the birds with individual songs for various species. I would not usually book something like this and was glad we did. If you are looking for something unique and memorable...this is it.Visited February 2020Written February 26, 2020
- Saravana MCalgary, Canada296 contributionsGreat bird watching 👀 tourPaulino is a great knowledgeable professional guide. I took his 4 hour birdwatching tour mid September ( off season) still managed to see 60 plus species including some great endemic birds like Cuban Tody, Cuban Hawk and also Mangrove Cuckoo,Little Blue Heron,Cuban Gnatcatcher. Paulino is very prompt in communication and for international travelers its easy to communicate wit him in WhatsApp. He picks you from your resort in his beautiful 1955 Chevrolet car. He knows the spots where he normally stops but if he sees any activities while driving he safely parks on the side and only if its not obstructing traffic and if safer he allows us to get out. His first stop is to see American Flamingo's and after that we saw many birds in the tour. He brings his own scope and if you want he can provide binoculars too. Overall its a must tour for nature lovers and bird watchers with this exceptionally knowledgeable guide Paulino Lopez Delgado. Next trip will do the remaining part of birding tour. Strongly recommendedVisited September 2022Traveled soloWritten September 25, 2022
- Chelsea T1 contributionThe best tour and an amazing experience.Paulino is extremely knowledgeable about all the kinds of birds in the area. My husband and I saw so many different species of birds and Paulino told us interesting information about all of them. My favourite birds that we saw were the todidae, flamingos and spoonbills. We went birdwatching for 4 hours and it was such a great experience, I highly recommend booking this tour! You will learn a lot about all the different birds in the area.Visited October 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten October 21, 2022
- Kathryn GOrillia, Canada4 contributionsFor the Birds... and so much more!Paulino picked us up in his classic Bel Air at 7 a.m sharp. His tour began not far from our resort, Melia Cayo Coco, and he often would pull over and have us get out to see a bird off to the side of the road. His knowledge of the birds, the environment, how climate has affected the area and its creatures and his patience with never ending questions is truly inspiring for someone who would have not considered birding before. I will definitely book a tour next year but this time, it will be a full day. I had booked this year's excursion for my mother and I and she was unable to come so I thought "Why not?" I am so glad I did. Paulino is a treasure trove of information who added so much depth to my experience of the area.Visited February 2023Written March 13, 2023
- Michelle YPeterborough, Canada5 contributionsBest Birding Day EverOur half day birding trip with Paulino was the highlight of our trip! Paulino is so knowledgable, helpful and patient. From the moment we met him it was clear he put a great deal of effort into making it the best possible experience. He had binoculars for all of us, a list of possible birds, bird books and a fabulous scope that he set up for us to get a really good look at the bird in our sights. He took us to a variety of settings so we could see many different bird species - in fact, we recorded 63 species in our 4 hours together. Incredible! I can't wait to go back to Cuba to do the inland excursion. Thank you Paulino!Visited March 2022Written April 15, 2022
- steve m2 contributionsYou won't be disappointedIt was a delight to once again meet Paulino to explore the birding world of Cayo Coco (last time was 15 years ago!). He met us at the resort equipped with scope and Vortex binos for those without them, and we spent an enjoyable half day tracking down most of the birds that we wanted to see. His 1955 Belair can comfortably hold 5 visitors with backpacks etc. The easiest way to connect with him is through Watsapp. Given the times, we all wore masks and drove with the windows open, so everyone felt comfortably safe. Paulino is very personable, and speaks English well so we enjoyed his company as much as we enjoyed the exploring.Visited December 2021Written December 29, 2021
- Mayte M4 contributionsBird watching tourPaulino is a very nice and knowledgeable person, he knows a lot about the endemic birds of Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo area, me and my husband were more interested in bird photography than bird watching and Paulino was a lot of help and was very accommodating so we could take the pictures. He will have binoculars if you don't have and also he has a great telescope. We book half day tour and was great, we saw a lot of birds, some of them lifers, like the Cuban Tody. I read others reviews and was mentioned to contact him via Facebook, so I did, and we scheduled all without any issues. I definitely will recommend this tour to any person interested in bird watching or photography, and if we go back to Cuba we will do this again for a longer time. Recommendation for you, if you want to book, take plenty of water, and 🦟 repellent.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 15, 2023

- missellyKitchener, Canada65 contributionsExceptional !A good friend and I booked Paulino for a full day plus a half day. Both experiences were priceless. His knowledge not only of the variety of birds, but of their habits and migratory details is so valuable. His English is impeccable, he is respected by locals and hotel staff know of him and speak highly of him. He also heads larger group tours, so to have him to ourselves for this time was so good. If you love birds, want to see local life, want to learn about nature in Cuba, book with Paulino.Visited November 2022Written December 14, 2022

Our third outing with Paulino in the last two years and he never fails to deliver. We spent 4 hours on Cayo Coco and adjoining islands and saw 37 different birds, including several endemic to Cuba. Pauline is so knowledgeable about birds and a master at locating them. A thoroughly enjoyable morning! We'll be back!

My wife and I did a half day with Paulino. First thing he asked was "What do you want to see" Flamingos. He took us up the island and lo and behold, hundreds of them. This area was good for water birds. Next we go the other way and go to where they have the cave parties and many song birds. Enjoyed this excursion very much. I booked him online from home.

Carol and I will be in Cuba from Januuary 27-March 6.
What days would we be able go with you to see flamingos.
We understand that Cayo Guillermo has the flamingos since the hurricane, and not Cayo Coco.
Thanks, Charliie
