Even on a cold and windy day in June, this was an excellent trip. We were well prepared for the 3 km hike along a gravel road (plus return) to the boat dock and really enjoyed seeing Western Brook Pond up close. The tour guide...More

There is a compulsory 3km walk (and also on your later return) along a gravel road (the old board walk has been retired) before you reach the dock for a 17km out and 17km boat ride the length of Western Pond. Though others find the...More

We did the Western Brook Pond boat trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery is breath taking and the guides are knowledgeable about the area. There is a 3km walk into the pond, it’s just a road and not very scenic. Once at the dock...More

What an abomination. The wonderful trail with pleasant boardwalks has been replaced by a gravel road fit for a tractor trailer. Unpleasant to walk on with large chunks of gravel and such an eye sore. Not one boardwalk to be seen. Really sad what has...More

We were fortunate to have a sunny day to experience this beautiful corner of the world. The short 30-45 minute hike from the parking lot to the boat is quite easy on what looks like a newly built gravel path. There is a small snack...More

We were watching the weather when we booked our boat trip. It was not rainy, but neither was it sunny which was too bad. The walk in was a nice chance to stretch the legs. The boat ride was very enjoyable with some entertaining narration,...More

We were in Newfoundland in September on our honeymoon, and after looking at attractions, we decided one of the days we would go on the tour in Western Brook Pond.....we are so glad we did! It was quite foggy the day we were able to...More

It would be foolish to travel to Gros Morne and leave without seeing Western Brook Pond. The hike in is fairly short and easy. The boat ride is worth every penny and would recommend to anyone - such fantastic views!

It was a cold Oct day, the first with snow so we didn’t want to hike too far. We were glad we stopped here though as the view is so beautiful. You can see the most famous spot in Gros Morne without walking too far...More
