Brookside Theatre is not local to us, we live in Suffolk. We visited recently to see The Revolvers who were giving a Beatles show. The theatre is compact seating just 140 people, although due to Covid restrictions capacity was reduced to around 70. Well equipped, comfortable seating all with an excellent view of the stage and acoustically excellent.

The staff were efficient and made us feel welcome. There is a small, reasonably priced bar and a seating area outside the front of the building.

It isn't often you can write a review without a hint of criticism well done to all involved.

A real gem we must do all we can to keep venues such as this alive.

I love this theatre, it really is giving something back to the community. An opportunity to see excellent quality shows at affordable prices. The atmosphere is friendly and it caters for children and adults alike both in the content it puts on and facilities available. Thoroughly recommend it!

Have been here many times seeing productions ranging from a talk on Jack The Ripper, an Elvis tribute, Chas Hodges (from Chas N Dave) and a few plays.
A nice little theatre with a good team behind it.

The Freddie and Queen experience were brilliant, it's a shame the jumped up rude manageress is in charge. Clearly she doesn't have the people skills to do the job. I'm guessing her 5 year old daughter had a free ticket too. Perhaps her managing skills could have been to better use controlling a child in a adult environment with alcohol. Talking of alcohol, if you dont want to pay £5 for a half pint bottle of beer, then I would avoid.

asked to come in 3 minutes before they let people in as I had previously been very unwell and it was freezing outside, the large woman said no, then proceeded to become hysterical and called someone else saying I had insulted her, I had not.
Her partner didnt listen to me and told me to leave , he gave us our money back, we had travelled all the way from colchester.
these people are a bit precious, may I remind them this a very small tatty hall in romford. they dont number seats so you have to queue up.
And they are not andrew lloyd webber and co. they should and need to be welcoming
and not alienating people . never again. also please put the amount paid on tickets and not just put 00.00. bye luvveys

Brookside Theatre appears to be a professional venue but although great effort has been made to create a foyer area and the volunteer staff are outstanding, the venue was cold, the nightlines terrible (we saw absolutely nothing from the 4th row) and overpriced at £16pp for an amateur production. The production itself was reasonable for an amateur production but I had expected more. Maybe it’s my expectation that needs adjusting? The £1 “delivery fee” to collect tickets is also a mystery when you can turn up and buy tickets on the door and not pay a printing fee.

First time at this theatre which I found online, never realised there was a theatre in Romford. Wonderful production by wonderful people who are raising money for the renovation and upkeep of the Romford Memorial Social Club. Will definately go there again. Keep up the hard work guys.

Please please please go and see a show here. West end quality in a one hundred seat venue. I'm addicted. And all thanks to the theatre manager and his missus with a tiny no of sporadic volunteers. wake up to seeing west end shows for average fifteen quid a seat. You're a mug to miss this venue. And if you fancy doing something useful volunteer and help them out. I have. Use it or lose it Romford!
